Here is Part 3 of the charity mini-series. I should probably issue a sad, feels warning for what's about to occur.

After the meeting concludes, you and the Avengers who plan to be at the charity banquet prepare their acts they plan to perform for the entertainment. As the event approaches, you practice your act nearly everyday with Wanda; you also frequently bring Max to the tower as motivation and a reminder for the cause they were suppose to stand for.

The day before the charity banquet started off as a normal day. You brought Max with you again and was about to look for Wanda to make sure you two had your routine perfected. While searching, something was off and Max started to get agitated. "What's wrong, boy?" you ask in a loving, yet concerned manner. "Something's not right," was his reply "I think someone strange is here. I can smell it and I don't like it." Using your animal senses you take a whiff of the surrounding air and realize Max was onto something. The scent was strange, yet familiar. This scent was common amongst...bombs? In a panic, you and Max sprint for the door "WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!!" you shout across the hallways right when the bomb you and Max sensed goes off.

The explosion was enough to shake the ground beneath you and at least five floors down. "Max" you say to the dog, "There's a safe room a floor below us. I want you to go there and don't come out until I say so." "What about you?" Max asks "What about everyone else?"  "Don't worry about us," you assure Max "We can handle this. Right now it's important any civilians nearby are safe and that includes you, sweetie. Now go" Max makes a run for it.

The intruders break into the tower. You recognize the markings and knew they were HYDRA agents. The remaining Avengers in the tower, including Steve, Tony, Natasha, and Sam gear up and prepare to fight the HYDRA intruders. You and the Avengers begin to fight. You take out a bunch of HYDRA agents with your gorilla-like strength and cheetah-speed, occasionally using your protruding canines to break skin.

The battle was almost over. "This is too easy," Sam remarks, "I agree," says Steve, "This could be a distraction." "If this is a distraction, than what exactly are they after?" asks Natasha. "Let me try something," you reply. You take a whiff of the air to detect any other HYDRA agents in the tower.  "There's a strange scent. It smells like it's coming from the lab." In a instant Tony uses his suit to fly to the lab. Whatever HYDRA was after it couldn't have been good.

You follow Tony. Having cheetah-speed it wasn't too hard to keep up. Lo and behold, a couple of HYDRA agents were attempting to raid various chemicals and mechanical inventions in the lab. Tony took down one but the other grabbed one of the experimental weapons and fired at Tony which knocked him out (it would have been worse if Tony wasn't wearing his suit).

You retaliate by punching the agent as hard as you can which knocks the man across the room. You go to help Tony not knowing the agent was getting up and about to take a shot with a regular pistol. As the agent pulls the trigger, Max runs in and jumps right in front of you and Tony, taking the bullet. "MAX!" you shout.

In blind, animal-like rage, you rush toward the HYDRA agent, biting his shoulder with your elongated canines. You punch him hard and was about to deliver the final blow when Steve grabs your hand. "(y/n), stop! You have to calm down." "I can't!" you yell, "He shot him! He shot Max!" "And killing him won't help anything."

As enraged as you were, you knew Steve was right. You slowly calm down. You take in your surroundings and turn around to see Max on the floor, the bullet had hit his leg. You rush to Max's side. "Hang in there, boy" you comfort the dog, "why did you do that you stupid, stubborn dog?" "It may have been stupid but that's what dogs do," Max replies. "It doesn't matter what I've been through. I've only know you for a few months and the rest of the team for a couple weeks, but in dogs years that's a pretty long time to know anyone. I think of you all as my pack and protecting the pack is what I'm supposed to do."

You cry a little at this speech; you knew the others couldn't understand what Max said to you, but you didn't care and let the tears flow. "I feel cold ," Max says "Max, please don't die, not yet," you say as they get Max up on the table "I have to keep my promise to find you a home." "I thought you already did" says Max
