Here's that Love Triangle installment I mentioned in the last story. Enjoy.
You were in the lounge area attempting to accomplish the near impossible and lift Mjonir; that hammer was after all was one of the few traits you found most fascinating about Thor who was sitting on the couch sipping from a bottle of beer and watching you in amusement. After a few more attempts, you pull back almost seemingly in defeat. "Do you wish to give up, fair lady?" Thor chuckles. "I ain't giving up just yet," you retort, "Maybe it would help if I tried going at it from a different angle." You try just that but nothing happens and so you try in at least seven different angles all to no avail.
"I think it would be wise to accept the hard fact that you are not worthy," Thor stands and effortlessly lifts the hammer with ease. You cross your arms and pout almost childishly, "show off," you mumble. He just smiles back at you; once he pulled off that sexy grin you could never stay mad at him.
Thor was one the first people you met when you became the newest recruit for the Avengers. He took an instant liking to you, often complimenting you and being impressed with your skills as a warrior thanks to your enhanced strength and self-defense classes you'd been taking since your were a child. You had started finding yourself pinning for the handsome Asgardian when he wasn't looking. Other than the muscles, blond hair, and accent, you also admired his skills as a fighter and found it amusing when you tried to educate him on Midgard tech and culture.
"If it makes you feel any better, I haven't been able to lift it either," you hear Steve's voice as he walks in noticing you pouting on the couch. "Hey, at least you came close," you reply referring to when he tried to lift the hammer. "Mjonir only budged for the captain and nothing more," Thor points out. Steve scoffs at that comment. You had to laugh at that.
Like Thor, Steve Rogers was also one the first ones on the team you met upon arrival. He often sparred with you in the gym and was often impressed with how your physical strength and endurance matched his despite your smaller stature. And also like Thor, you had developed feelings for Steve; other than his physical traits you also admired his old-fashion values. There were even times when you had to simultaneously educate Steve and Thor on modern technology.
"Maybe I'll try again one these days," you state, "till I'll be in the kitchen making sandwiches, all that lifting or lack thereof really works up an appetite." "Let me help make the sandwiches," Thor says following you to the kitchen. "I'll help too," Steve trails behind Thor. As you and the boys make your way to the fridge and grab everything you need to make sandwiches (which in Thor's case is pretty much the entire contents of the fridge), you begin to wonder which one of these two you wanted to start a relationship with. Once you construct your sandwich, you notice Steve and Thor's are quadruple decker. "And you two wonder why we need to restock the fridge every other day," you chuckle as you head to the table. The three of you eat and engage in casual conversation about trivial things and you occasionally quizzing Steve and Thor on pop culture. After you all finish eating, you volunteer to wash the dishes and the boys go their separate ways.
While you dry and put away the dishes, you begin to think of ideal places you would want your first date to be with one of them. For Steve, being the gentlemen that he was, you figured a dinner at a nice diner would be perfect. In Thor's case the ideal first date with him would definitely be a brewery where he could guzzle down the finest quality beer and ale to be offered. With these thoughts in mind you where left with the final question: who did you want to date and hopefully form a lasting relationship with.
Steve Rogers:
After thinking it through, you knew in your heart the man for you was Captain America. You walk around and eventually find Steve in the gym with a couple of punching bags. Once he was done you walk up to him and tap him on the shoulder. "Hey, (y/n)," he says as he takes a sip from his water bottle, "What can I do for you?" "Um" you began, "well there was this diner I found in Brooklyn and it has some pretty high ratings according to yelp. Maybe we could try it sometime." "You mean like a date or something?" he asks. "Well it doesn't have to be," you respond back, "It could or if you want it can just be between two friends." "What if it was two friends, one of them pays for the meal, and maybe it can be us becoming more than just friends?" Steve suggests.
"Works for me," you answer. Once Steve changes into something nice, you and him drive to the diner for dinner. You and him talk about events of the day along with other trivial things as any other friend would do. Once you and him were done, Steve kept his word and paid for the whole meal. He takes you back to the tower and to your room. "I had a great time," Steve admits, "it's been a while since I was able to enjoy something like that," you smile and say good night. Before you could turn around and enter your room, Steve presses a gentle kiss to your forehead before leaving.
Thor:
It took some time but deep down, you really wanted to be with the Asgardian prince. You walk toward Thor's room and knock on the door. "Who goes there?" you hear his voice boom from the other side. "It's me, (y/n)," you reply, "Can we talk?" Thor opens the door. "What brings you to my chambers this hour of the day," he asks in a curious manner. "I've been looking online and there's a brewery a couple of blocks from here," you explain, "and I know how much you love different types of beer and ale and maybe you would like to try it sometime." Thor thinks about it and responds, "You have me intrigued and therefore I will gladly accept your invitation."
Once Thor changes into casual Midgard clothes you and him walk to the brewery. Once there, sure enough, Thor tastes every type of beer there, and by every type that meant EVERY, by the glassful. You on the other hand weren't exactly a big beer drinker but there were a few flavors you enjoyed. You did however make the foolish mistake to try and keep up with Thor on the drinking; despite similar physical strength you didn't exactly have the metabolism to match, not to mention you were a bit of a lightweight when it comes to drinking. At the end, Thor was the one who carried you back to the tower. He takes you to your room and places you on your bed. After he tucks you in he kisses you on the temple before leaving.
