This will be the final installment of the Avenger's Radio series. Hope you enjoy. I should also mention that there will be some Scarlett Vision moments in this one.
It was another day at the radio station, and pretty much all the Avengers had shown up for the Avengers celebrity roast. "Okay, everyone," you tell them, "We got less than a minute before we're live on the air, so brace yourselves, whoever will be roasted tonight." "I'm actually looking forward to this," Clint grins holding up some flashcards, "I have zingers for just about everyone in this room."
"Ok, we are live right now," you announce. "Hello, New York and to whoever else is listening on the radio right now," you speak into the microphone, "welcome back to Avenger's radio live from Manhattan. We have quite the show tonight as the whole Avenger's team, myself included, will be participating in a celebrity roast. Now you're probably thinking who's getting roasted tonight? Well to make things fair I am drawing from a hat," you break out the hat," the one I have in my hands, but you can't see since this is radio. The names of the all the Avenger's present are in this hat and whoever's name I draw out gets roasted tonight. Are you ready my fellow team members?" you ask in anticipation. "No," Scott and Tony reply. "Oh yeah," Clint holds up his flashcards. "Alrighty, brace yourself, team," you put your hand in the hat, Sam and Bucky both have their fingers crossed, "Please be Barnes, please be Barnes," Sam whispers to himself. "Please be Wilson, please be Wilson," Bucky says to himself. "And the winner is," you pull out a piece of paper and read the name out loud, "Hawkeye!" Everyone cheers except Clint. "What?" he groans, "That can't be right." "I'm holding your name right here if you don't believe me," you show him the paper. "What am I suppose to do with these?" Clint holds up the flashcards. "I'll take those from you," Natasha takes the cards away from Clint, "Lucky for you, these won't go to waste since I wrote zingers in the back in Russian."
For the next whole hour, Clint had to sit in the hotseat while everyone else went at it with the insults, no chill whatsoever. "Can we take a break now?" Clint asks after a while. "We still got five minutes," you tell him, "How many more zingers can possibly be filled in that amount of time?" Thanks to Tony and Sam, it turned out one could fill in at least fifty insults in under five minutes, leaving Clint to practically slunk down from his seat. "Okay, I think Hawkeye has had all he can in a lifetime," you say into the microphone, "Don't worry, buddy, we still love you. In fact, to end tonight, we'll play a song from Hawkeye's playlist. 'Surfin' Bird' from the Trashman. "You said you weren't going to put that on the playlist," Clint groans. "Oh," you say, "Well consider this part of the roast."
Back at the facility, everyone had settled down for the night, except for Tony, so you take this time to talk to him about the last night of Avenger's radio. "Hey, Tony," you approach him. "Giving what time this is I assume you have something you want to talk to me about," Tony says to you. "In that case I'll just cut to the chase," you say back, "Look I know tomorrow night is the last day of Avenger's radio and is also the night we do the Avengers quiz. As the reigning champion, I was hoping maybe you would go easy on the newcomers." you smile in a hopeful manner. "Yeah, as nice as that would be," Tony replies, "I'm afraid that's something I can't do. See I am a Stark and I have to live up to the family words." "Words?" you say incredulously, "Tony this is a radio contest not freakin' Game of Thrones." "Well to quote the HBO show, you win or you die," Tony smirks in triumph while you take in a deep breath, "Well than, to quote a beloved cartoon character from Looney Tunes 'Of course you realize this means war.'" With that you turn around and head to your room in preparation for tomorrow.
-------------The Next Day-------------------------
It was the final day for Avengers radio and everyone had gathered around for the quiz contest. As soon as the red light was on you speak into the microphone. "Hello, New York," you began, "Welcome to the last night of Avenger's radio," you press a button and the jingle you whipped up was heard on the radio, "The last seven days had been filled with heart-warming moments, laughter, and yes we even shed a tear or two; both on and off the radio apparently. Tonight I thought the best way to end the week, would be none other than the bi-annual Avengers quiz. This by the way is a little something, we fellow Avengers came up with as a promotion three years ago. To spice things up I hold in my hand the prize for the winner, which is two park-hopper tickets to Disney World. Sitting on my left side is Tony Stark, the reigning champ for the last three years. On my right side, will be whoever I draw from the hat to take on the champion. And the challenger is..." you pull a name from the hat once again, "Vision." Both Tony and Vision were taken by surprise but Vision takes a seat on your right side out of obligation.
"Alright gentlemen," you continue, "The rules are simple. I ask a question, first one to answer correctly wins." Everyone gathers around Vision in anticipation in hopes the android will be the one to put Tony in his place. "Okay, question one," you began, "What is Captain America's favorite anime series?" Tony immediately presses the button, "Avatar: the Last Airbender," was his response. "Oh I'm sorry," you reply, "That's incorrect. The question now goes to Vision." "If I understand what anime is than I believe the Captain's favorite anime is Sword Art Online." "That is correct," you say, "point one to Vision." "What?" Tony complains, "I specifically heard Rogers say Avatar was his favorite." "Correction, that show is not anime it is anime inspired animation; there's a difference. Alright, question two," you continue, "This man had a bright idea to create Ultron-" You glare at Tony as he presses the button again, "That was me and before you say anything, (y/n), yes I admit and yes I'll do just about anything to win this game so ask all the self-incriminating questions you want." "That's all well and good except you didn't let me finish the question," you smirk, "This man had a bright idea to create Ultron because of this Avenger's unique abilities to show said person his most deepest and darkest fears which moved said man to falter and give in to those fears and nearly destroy the world." Vision presses the button, "Wanda Maximoff." "Correct, another point goes to Vision." This round of questions and answers goes on for a few more rounds. Tony eventually catches up.
"Alright," you continue, "The score is all tied up. The question I have in my hand will determine the victor. Final question," you smirk inwardly knowing this one would give Vision the upper hand while simultaneously sailing your ship, "Vision likes a fellow member of the Avengers, which one is it?" At that moment Tony and everyone else looks at you in shock and you could have sworn Vision blushed a little. "To clarify, when I say like, I'm talking about feelings of the romantic variety. Who does Vision pine for late at night?" "How can this guy possibly have romantic feelings, he's an android," Tony protests. "Careful, Stark," you warn softly, "That might border along the lines of discrimination." "Come on, Vis, it's no screat to anyone in this group," Sam quips, "Even I could have answered this one." "Very well than," Vision presses the button and whispers the name of the one he cared for. "That is correct!" you exclaim as everyone was left in surprise and Vision to fully blush, "The winner and new reigning champion is Vision! You win the Avengers quiz and two tickets to Disney World!" You hand Vision the tickets, "Well that's it everybody," you speak into the microphone, "I hope you all out there enjoyed our time on the radio, and as we say goodbye, here's a song from the team's playlist as a whole." you play Fall Out Boy's "Centuries" as everyone gathers around to congratulate Vision on his victory. The week after Radio Avengers concluded, Vision sure enough left for Disney World, giving the second ticket to Wanda so she could join him.
This concludes the Avenger's Radio mini-series.
