V- Frank
The moment Leo passed out from exhaustion, Frank grabbed his arm, not wanting Leo to crack his head open on the rocks below.
Frank moved Leo so the son of Hephaestus was laying on the soft grass, and not the rough rocks. Frank noticed that Leo was smiling in his sleep, though Frank wasn't sure why.
"--not the last of them." Frank heard Percy say.
He turned around. "Not the last of what?" Frank asked.
"Giants," Jason answered, glancing at Leo.
Percy nodded in agreement. "All the giants are back in the mortal world now. We need to watch out for them."
"In the meantime," Annabeth began, "We need to focus on getting Leo back to the ship before he hurts himself anymore."
Frank nodded, looking at Leo's unconscious body on the ground. "Agreed, but I don't think we need to worry about Leo hurting himself. He looks pretty out of it."
"He probably will be for a while," Piper added. "He's exhausted."
"I'm not surprised," Jason said. "I mean, he fought Mimas on his own. Not that Mimas put up much of a fight, but still..."
Frank glanced at Percy, who was the closest to Leo. "Hey, Percy? Help me get Leo to the ship, will you?"
Percy blinked. "Uh, yeah. Sure." He took Leo's legs while Frank grabbed Leo's arms, and the seven demigods headed back to the Argo II.
************************************
"Leo's still sleeping," Jason announced, coming back up on deck after checking on Leo.
"Of course he is," Piper muttered as she watched Jason walk over to her.
Frank leaned against the railing of the Argo II, staring at the little island that was once home to a certain bane of Hephaestus, before a certain son of Hephaestus killed him.
"Hey," said a voice beside him. Frank didn't have to turn to know it was Hazel. He just grasped her hand and continued his staring contest with the island.
"I'm worried, Frank." Hazel muttered as she leaned against him.
Frank looked over, smiling warmly at his girlfriend. "Why?"
Hazel shrugged. "It's just... did you hear what Percy said? All the giants are out of Tartarus."
Frank shrugged. "Yeah. So?"
"So, that means we have to defeat those giants. All of them. Remember Alcyoneus?"
Frank nodded, thinking of the golden giant him and Hazel had killed in Alaska... er, Canada, actually.
"We have to defeat him again." Hazel continued. "And... Leo had to fight Mimas... alone."
Frank nodded again. "You're worrying that we'll each have to fight the bane of our parent. Alone."
Hazel nodded.
Frank sighed. "Well, I can't see the future, so I can't exactly tell you you're wrong, but who knows? Maybe we'll end up fighting them all in Athens, during the..."
"The war." Hazel finished. "Yeah. Let's hope, 'cause I really do not want to defeat Golden Boy again. At least.... alone."
"Agreed."
"Hey, what I miss?" said a cheery voice from behind them. Frank and Hazel turned to see Leo leaning against the railing beside them.
"Hey, Leo," Hazel greeted. "Glad you're up."
Frank grinned. "Yeah. And... you didn't miss anything, really. We're just trying to get away from that island."
Leo turned to look at the island, which, by now, was nothing more than a speck in the distance. Leo gripped the railing, and Frank noticed his left hand was wrapped around the palm in a bandage.
"What happened there?" Frank asked, gesturing to Leo's hand.
Leo looked down. "Oh, this? I dunno. It was bandaged when I woke up."
"That's because I bandaged it, Valdez." Piper said as she approached the trio. She clapped Leo on the back. "Feeling better?"
Leo nodded. "Much better, thanks to you, Dr. McLean," he joked, lifting his left hand.
Piper grinned. "Very funny. And to answer your question, it was just a scrape. Not bleeding badly, but I figured I might as well put a bandage around it so it wouldn't bleed anymore."
"Hey, Leo!" Annabeth called, climbing up the stairs from below deck.
"What?" Leo called back.
"Are we still heading in the right direction? I kinda just messed with the controls to get us away from the island while you were out." Annabeth continued.
Leo pushed himself away from the railing and walked to the helm, checking the controls. Frank watched as Leo tapped a few buttons and said, "All good! Still on course!"
Annabeth nodded. "Good." she walked to the other side of the ship, where Percy was gripping the railing. Percy turned when Annabeth reached his side. "So, what now?" Percy asked.
Jason shrugged. "Wait for another attack?"
"How about..." Leo began, not taking his eyes off of the controls. "...lunch? I'm starved."
Piper shrugged. "Sounds good to me. I am a little hungry."
Percy nodded. "Ditto."
"Great," Leo said, tapping a few more buttons. "I'll just put the ship on autopilot and..." he paused to press a final button. "... we can go eat!"
Leo headed below deck. "Come along, amigos!" He called out. "Let's see what Chef Leo has for lunch!"
Everyone headed below deck for lunch, except for Frank.
"Frank?" Hazel asked. "You coming?"
Frank looked at Hazel and smiled. "Nah, I'm not that hungry. You go ahead."
Hazel smiled. "Okay, then." She kissed him on the cheek before heading below deck, her hand slipping out of Frank's grasp.
"What's the matter, Zhang? Not hungry?"
Frank whirled around to face whoever had spoken, and immediately readied his bow for defense.
"Hello, Frank Zhang. I am--"
