XXVI- Leo

Leo was really starting to hate being possessed.

This was the third time one of those annoying eidolons had taken over his body. At least this time, he didn't blow up anything important.

And he had Piper to thank- if it wasn't for her, he'd probably be on his way to Camp Half-Blood, to once again start a riot of angry demigods.

Leo had been sitting in his room for the past half hour, leaning back in his chair in front of his desk, and watching the fire from his palm engulf a piece of paper before wadding it up and chucking it into the trash bin.

In other words, he was bored.

His friends were all doing something; Percy was training with Jason, Piper was studying her knife, Annabeth was sleeping, and Frank was talking with Hazel up on deck.

Leo didn't feel like drowning himself in his numerous worries, so instead he resulted to the 'Leo-version' of basketball.

As he watched the flames burn the edges of a crumpled up drawing, Leo heard a yelp, and then someone call his name.

Frowning, Leo stood up, dropped the extinguished paper in the trash, and opened his door.

"Leo!" Piper said, looking relieved. "Thank the gods I found you. Look." She held out her dagger.

Leo took it from her hand and studied the surface, waiting for whatever had freaked Piper out and made her search for him.

Nothing happened. "Uh, Pipes? There's nothing showing up..."

Piper sighed. "Just wait."

He did. After a few more seconds, the bronze surface rippled, and an image formed, tinted by the Celestial Bronze metal. Once the image came into focus, Leo dropped the knife in shock.

He stared at Piper. "What was that? Why is he back?"

Piper shrugged helplessly. "I don't know, Leo. You killed him, didn't you?"

Leo nodded. "Yeah, of course. I..." It dawned on him.

"What, Leo?" Piper asked. "You did kill him, right? I mean, we all watched you..."

Leo shook his head. "No. I didn't kill him. Gods, how could I have been so stupid?"

"What is it?"

Leo sighed. "You need a god to defeat a giant. I supposedly defeated him alone. That shouldn't have been possible... it isn't."

"So that means..." Piper's eyes widened. "You have to fight him again."

Leo nodded sullenly. "Yep."

Leo had thought his day couldn't get any worse than it already was.

Oh, how wrong he was.

Mimas was back.

Leo needed a plan.

Mimas had returned, and most likely wanted revenge, so Leo needed to be prepared.

He had fought the giant once before, and was lucky enough to make it away with his life and a victory.

This time, Leo had to be careful. Mimas knew Leo's fighting style, abilities, and powers now. Leo needed a strategic plan.

He needed a surprise.

Based on the vision in the knife, Leo had to meet Mimas at seven. That left him about five hours to prepare.

Leo headed to a lower floor of the trireme, where he had installed a mini training room.
