Just Another Happy Ending

Chapter 18: Suspended

I've been laying in my bed all day because when I can home and told Ashe what happened she agreed I didn't he to go back until this calmed down. It's been four hours and I haven't heard anything from Evan. I assume that was the last I'll see if him for six days.

That thought made me sad and a little angry. The least he could do is text me and tell me he's okay. I sigh softly just wanting my phone to vibrate saying something but with each hour I wait I'm still left with nothing in its peek. Eventually I doze off. I'm tired of wait on a text I may never get.

Once I fall asleep I'm awake to this strange feeling that when I'm half asleep I can't describe. It felt like a kiss to my forehead. Ashe hasn't done that since I was little. That means... I open my eyes darting up to see the figure in front of me. "I didn't mean to wake you." He says softly and I stand slowly reaching out to touch his face.

"Am I dreaming?" He smiles shaking his head. I touch him and when I see that he's real I jump at him. "Oh my gosh!" He hugs me back. "I'm so sorry baby girl." I pull back from him and he catches my tears. "I was so worried about you. I thought maybe you'd left without saying goodbye."

He uses his thumb to wipe away my tears. "No Ri I would never do that." I start to slow my tears pulling back from the embrace I had him in. "So why are you here? Shouldn't you be halfway out of state by now?" He smiles. "Well the bad news is I got suspended but the good news is that means I can't go on the trip so I'm stuck here with you."

I frown. "Evan I'm sorry I ruined your trip and that you're stuck with me. Maybe Alec is right I'm better off unnoticed." He grips my face a little rough but it's nothing I'll object to. "Hey I don't ever want to here you say that. You're beautiful and babe you will always be good enough for me."

He stops for a second stepping closer. "Alec is one of those guys I talked about. When you don't give him what he wants he thinks it's okay to treat you like a piece of meat because to him that's all you were." I shake my head. "Well what did he want?"

He smiles cupping my face. "Everything that I have that's why he had to step up and say something. Thought that maybe I would say you're things that you're not like worthless or not good enough and then you are hurt in the end. You can't let him get inside you're head Ri. He's nothing and I'm sure that he will not be bothering us again."

I laugh some. "You shouldn't have done that. Now you can't go on your trip." He leans in to me letting our noses touch. "Baby girl if you think I'm going to let someone talk down to you let alone put there hands on you like that just for a trip you really must not understand how much I care about you." I look down.

"I do now. Thank you. It was sweet of you." He lifts my face kissing me. "Why don't we make up for that trip?" I smile. "That's fine Evan but no going out. Why don't we hang here? We can actually eat normal food." He laughs. "I was just trying to impress you. I don't really eat that stuff." I roll my eyes. "Sure." He smiles kissing me.

"I'm so happy I don't have to say goodbye to you." He whispers. "Same here." I say with a small smile. "Ri!" I groan lowly. He smiles at me and I step past him opening my door. "Yes?!" I wait patiently for her response."Can you and Evan come down for a moment?" I sigh turning to him and he nods.

We head down and she is sitting in the living room. We step in and she mutes the TV. "Okay guys so I know that you to are together now and I'm happy for you. Evan you seem sweet enough and I want you to know I'm proud of how you stood up for her. Now that I've gotten all that out the way I was wondering if you guys wanted a night out on the town with me?"

I sigh looking over my shoulder at him. He leans in to my ear. "I'm up for it you know I love spoiling you." I nod softly. "Sure." She smiles. "Well leave in about an hour." I nod turning to Evan. I lean up to his ear. "And you know I love being spoiled." I say stepping past him.

He smiles following me up the stairs. When he comes into my room I'm standing in my mirror. "Gross I need to change." He wraps an arm around my waist. "I think you look great. Not because I'm your boyfriend but because you just look amazing in my shirt and that crop top." I sigh.

"Yes babe but I could look even cuter." I hadn't noticed that I said it until he kisses letting my back hit the wall gently and I hum against his lips. "Evan..." I say softly between kisses. He pulls back a little. "I'm sorry babe." I shake my head. "It slipped Evan. I'm sorry."

He sets his nose on mine. "Don't you dare apologize Ri."  I smile touching his face. "You're so sweet Evan." He rubs our noses together. "So are you Ri." I hum biting my lip.

I couldn't wait to spend months with him. I couldn't wait to say 'I love you' and hear him whisper it back. This man was my everything. I don't know what I would do without him. I don't want to know. Not now. Not ever.
