Chapter 36: Reuniting

'Evan...' I hit send locking my phone. It's been one week since I last seen him. We've texted the whole time but being away from him pains me. 'Yes baby girl?' I roll my eyes because he should be in class right now so how is he texting me so fast. 'Never mind. You should be in class.' His reply is quick of course.

'Baby girl you know I always have time for you. What's up?' I smile sticking my bottom lip out. 'I miss you...' He doesn't reply right away so I set my phone down rolling over. I doze off because all my school work was done for the week and I was tired.

I wake up hearing Ashe calling me. "Ri!"I groan rolling out of bed in my black knitted cardigan, because it was cold, my maroon sweats and my cheeseburger crop top. I open the bedroom door. "What?!" She laughs. "Come down real quick." I groan again louder heading out my room and down the stairs.

When I get to the bottom, I'm so sleepy my eyes don't focus right away. "What is it Ashe?" I say rubbing my eyes. "Hey babe..." I hear his voice making my eyes focus. "No no..." I say before sobbing softly, running into him. He holds me humming softly. "I've missed you so much."

He whispers down to me. I cling to him. "Please don't leave again..." He lifts my face kissing me. "I'm not going anywhere babe. You look very relaxed." I smile. "What, do you like my cheeseburger crop top?" He smiles nodding. "Of course I do. We should get matching ones." I laugh and so does he. "It's so nice to have you back. The old you I mean." I hum. "It's good to be back Evan. Honestly to a certain extent I don't care what you think about me looking like crap. You woke me up. Am I supposed to roll out of bed looking like rainbows and sunshine?"

He kisses me. "Babe you're rambling. But no I'm happy you see things the way you used too." I hum. "Me too. Now come upstairs. I'm tired and you've been leaving me to sleep alone." He kisses me. "Yeah my bed being empty just felt so off. I've been sleeping on the couch for a week." I smile. "No more couches for you Evan. Now come on."

I take his hand pulling him after me. I head upstairs flopping down on my bed and he climbs in next to me. I feel his warm arms tugging me closer and it's the best feeling. He kisses softly over my face. "How was school?" I ask combing through his hair and he sighs. "Not to great." I scratch his head some and he hums. "I'm sorry baby." He shakes his head. "Don't be but there's something I need to tell you." I stop moving my hand pushing my body against his. "Is it bad?" He bites his lip.

"Well it depends. Some people think that we are on a break. Or that we aren't together at all." I frown. "But we are right?" He laughs. "Like I'd give you up for anything." I hum. "Then take me out. Show me off." He smiles letting his nose sit on mine. " I thought you were tired?" I roll my eyes. "To be honest I just wanted you to stay." He kisses my head. "I would have anyways."

I hum. "Come on please take me out." He smiles. "Where would you like to go?" I think. "You've got friends." He huffs. "Yeah but they'll treat you like a piece of meat." I smile. "So let's show them I'm not." He kisses me. "Okay sure but let me dress you." I nod kissing him. "Sure." He kisses me and I move my lips with his humming but he doesn't seem to care as he pulls me closer. "Come on." He says softly getting up and I pout because it was so sudden.

I get up and he stands in my closet scanning. "Here." He says pulling his long sleeve T-shirt from my closet. It's the one he gave me from the beach house when we stayed because of the storm. I take my shirt and cardigan off throwing the shirt over my head. He looks down nodding. "Okay keep the pants and here let me fix your hair." I smile sitting on the bed. He pulls it up into a cute messy bun and wow I just loved him. I get up examining the perfect bun. "I love you." I say pulling him from the bed. He pulls me into him. "I love you too baby. Now come on."
