Just Another Happy Ending

Chapter 46: Teagan's Born

"Oh my gosh Evan!!!!" He comes running into the bathroom because I was taking a bath. "What's up?!" I sigh. "Look... Come on Teagan." It takes a few seconds before she swipes her foot across the top of my stomach. I look at him and he's amazed. "Does that hurt?" I shake my head before taking a breath. "Not as bad as these contractions." He pulls the plug. "Come on. Let's get you dried off."

He has to help me out the tub because I'm a week short of nine months now. They say the baby can come whenever though I'm I have two weeks until my scheduled due date. He drys me of getting me dressed but these contractions aren't stopping. Just when I open my mouth they stop. "Evan I love you and I love Teagan but I hate the feeling of being pregnant."

He laughs. "It will all be over soon Ri." I hum falling into him. Once I'm fully dressed he walks with me out to the bedroom. "Come on let me brush your hair." I nod sitting on the bed with him. He brushes gently through my hair. I lean back against him when the contracts start again I groan and he he kisses my neck not helping.

"Evan..." He hums. "My water just broke." He jumps up. "Oh my god! Come on!" He picks me up carrying me. I'm breathing funny and when he places me in the car I try to calm down but I can't. He climbs in and I grab his arm. "The bags..." He smiles starting the car. "Already in the trunk."

He rushes me to the hospital parking crooked in a parking place before carrying me to a wheelchair. I take his hand squeezing. "Evan..." He sighs. "I know." He pushes me in heads for the front desk. "My wife went into labor." They swarm me and I lose him. I cry telling them I wanted him.

They find him and I hug him. By now they've got me in a gown and they are about to do the epidural. I refuse to let anyone else hold me but him and to my surprise they let him. He grips me. "Baby girl do not move okay? Focus on me. I know this will hurt but think about they happy life we get to live." I feel the needle and I bite my lip closing my eyes.

"Think about holding our baby girl. Think about telling her one day how much you loved her and how much you went through to bring her here. This is worth it Riley. Always remember this is worth it." I sigh and they hand him the button. "Here we go baby girl." He says kissing my head and pushing the button. I'm numb from the waist down and he picks me up laying me on the bed.

I close my eyes retinue hardest Ashe takes my hand. "Evan call Ashe and tell her to get here asap. The baby isn't pushing and I want her to be here." He nods stepping out. Every contraction I get they make me push but by the time Ashe gets there they still can't see the baby. I think it takes 30 hours of pushing until she's finally here and the last thing I remember is holding her in my arms feeling Evan kiss my head. "Teagan..." I whisper and that was it.

When I wake up I hear the beeping of my heart monitor. "Evan..." I say softly and he takes my hand. "Baby..." I open my eyes softly to see him. "How long have I been out?" He brushes a thumb over my face. "A day." I gasp. "What about Teagan?"

He shushes me. "She's fine. The doctors say that she'd very healthy and they have been feeding her. "You just get some rest." I shake my head. "I want to hold my baby." He sighs kissing my head. "I'll ask okay?" I nod. He leaves and when he comes back the nurse has the baby. "Here you go sweetie." I fight tears thanking her. "Oh look how beautiful she is Evan."

I whisper and he smiles. "I'm so lucky." He says softly into my ear. "I can't thank you enough Riley but I spend the rest of my life trying to." I hum feeling him kiss my cheek. "Hey there Teagan. I'm your mommy." She cries reaching out for my finger and I give it to her. She tries to hold it the best she can. I start to cry as she dozes holding my finger.

"Teagan I want you to meet someone. This is you're daddy." I say handing her to him. She cries for a se one but then clings to him like nothing I've ever seen before. "Look at her Evan." I can see the tears in his eyes. "I've done nothing to deserve this Ri." I smile wiping the tears from his eyes. "Don't go there Evan. We love you and that's it." He nods kissing her on the head.

"Daddy's dreamed of you princess." I smile and there's a slight knock. "Ashe..." She gawks at the baby. "Look at her. She's beautiful." I smile and Ashe steps in admiring her. "Have you named her?" I smile. "Teagan Leigh Reynolds." Ashe hums. "It's beautiful." There's another knock and the nurse steps in. "Well unfortunately it's time to get the both of you feed but the good news is you can feed her if you'd like." I nod and Evan hands her back to me. The nurse brings in a bottle. She shows me how to feed her and I follow her instructions and she starts eating instantly.

"What would you like Riley?" I smile. "Anything." She nods. "Before you leave of course the birth certificate needs to be filled out. You're baby was very healthy and she weighed in at a few ounces short of seven pounds." I smile nodding and she leaves to get me food. "I love you more than anything." He says rubbing my arm. "Shouldn't you be working on a project?" He clenches his jaw. "Screw school. My beautiful wife just gave birth to my amazing daughter. Like I'd miss that for the world. You're crazy if you think I'm gonna leave."

I hear the snap of a camera and I look to Ashe. "Really Ashe?!" She smiles. "Hey don't scold me. You just had a baby. I'm gonna take pictures." He sighs. "Can I get you anything baby?" I motion for him to come closer and he does so I lean in kissing him and he moves his lips with mine. When he pulls back I smile. "Would you like to feed her?" He nods and I hand her to him.

He looks so precious and as Ashe snaps pictures of him I can't help but fight tears. This was everything I've wanted. I've got a fiancee who loves me. I've got a baby who just adores him and I have a good life even if my parents aren't here. It would be ten times better if they were but I understand in the end. I've gotten so much great out of this life. A boy who would die for me and a baby that just doesn't know how loved she is yet. I couldn't as for a single thing more. You and you're daddy share my heart, Teagan Leigh Reynolds.
