It's been one month sense I found out I was pregnant. It's still something that weighs on my mind but I love the way Evan stares at me now. It's like he has this whole knew reason to love me. It's early and I'm awake as he sleeps soundly. I've made my way to the beach letting the sand mold to my bare feet as I step on it. I'm showing a little but not a lot yet.
I stand staring out at the deep blue ocean. "Mom...dad...it's your sunshine. I hope you're proud of me but I have some news. I'm...ugh..." I let some tears fall. "I'm pregnant... I know you'd scold me for being so young but I'm not naive. I'm engaged and Evan's really great. I wish you could be here but I know you do too. I'm sorry..."
I cover my face crying. I feel his hands creep onto my stomach. He doesn't say anything he just holds me. "Baby..." He speaks when I calm. "It's cold out here. And it's too early for you to be up." I laugh. "See I told you. He's great." I bury my face into his neck. "Riley can't you talk to them when it warms up. I'm worried." I nod and he walks me back into the house with him. He sits me at the island in the kitchen. "Can I get you something to drink?" I nod. "Something warm please." He nods.
He makes me some hot chocolate with the marshmallows that he knows I love. "Here babe." I smile. "Thank you. I didn't mean to wake you." He reaches over touching my face. "I woke myself actually. When I rolled over and you were gone I panicked and came looking." I frown. "I didn't mean to panic you Evan." He sighs with a smile. "As long as our baby is in there you're going to panic me and even sometimes on a normal basis you panic me. I'm used to it Ri. Don't let it bother you."
"Why are you up so early anyways? Something on your mind?" He says nudging the cup towards me so I'll drink. "The baby mostly. I'm just worried." He sighs. "That's not good babe. Okay? Talk to me. We aren't engaged and having a baby for nothing. I need you to tell me how you feel. If not you could hurt the baby." I huff. "Okay. I am just worried I won't be a good enough mom. I'm just scared." He kisses me. "You will be great babe. Stop worrying. Okay and you know that Ashe will help. I mean she raised you. And look how perfect you turned out."
He cups my face. "Take a breath. Everything will be fine." I take a breath smiling. "There's my beautiful fiancee." I hum kissing him. "Yeah sure." He smiles. "You taste like chocolate." I laugh. "You sure know how to ruin a moment." He shakes his head. "I want to see you this happy all the time. Okay?" I smile. "I'll try." He kisses me. "Now come back to bed. I'll have to get up for school soon."
I frown. "Why do you even still go?" I ask as he walks with me up the stairs. "If I don't graduate I won't get the piece of the family business that's giving me all this money." I run my fingers through the back of his hair making him shiver some as I gently scratch. "What is this business exactly?" He hums. "Farming. My dad has big fields full of crops." I kiss him when we get upstairs. "A country boy."
He smiles. "You sound like you like that." I hum. "Maybe I do." He pulls me into him. "Are you trying to make another baby?" He kisses my jaw. "Maybe..." I sigh. "Well I'm not..." He kisses me. "Come on babe you're already pregnant I'll be extra careful." I sigh feeling him lift my shirt. "No Evan please..." He kisses me softly letting my shirt fall. "Okay at least lay with me." I nudge my nose against his. "Sure."
He lays pulling me with him. I laugh some cuddling into him. "We're going to be okay huh?" He kisses my head. "Of course Ri. Why wouldn't we be okay?" I shrug letting my arm lay across him. "I don't know I just...I don't know." He smiles kissing my cheek softly. "We're fine. Nothing will change that. Get some sleep. You need it." I nod softly eventually dozing in his embrace.
When I wake up he's gone and I groan. There's this saddening feeling in my gut. I get up peeing because I think my bladder might explode before head downstairs to the smell of lovely food. I head into the kitchen seeing Evan. I wrap my arms around him as he stands at the stove cooking.
