What do you do when you're world's stopped? When it's stopped but people and time continues on? How do you keep going? Does it even seem fair or right too? You're frozen still in this one place repeating the loop of that horrible moment but everyone else seems to just continue.
"No...Evan please..." He's so upset and I can see that in his face. "I can't lose you... Not again..." I fall to my knees crying taking the ring into my hands. "I never wanted to hide you. But I always have to open my big mouth." I sob into my hands. "Evan...please. I'm broken when you're gone and I can't... Look at me Evan. This is what leaving you does to me. Please..."
I feel a pair of hands touch me before pulling me into them so they could cradle me. "Ri..." I sob softly burying my face into his shirt. "Evan please... I'm not good enough for anyone else. You're the only one who's actually stuck by me and cared for me. Evan I'm so sorry just please." He kisses my head.
"Stop Riley listen to me. I need to know that you care as much as me. I need to know that love isn't something you say it's something you feel." I sob. "Evan I love you with everything that I have. With everything that I am. Can't you see that? I can't lose you please." He pulls my face from my chest. He wipes my tears away before kissing me. I feel him open my hand while his lips are pleading with mine for more.
He takes the ring and before long I feel the metal on my face and he fights for dominance of our kiss. Once he wins he pulls back hugging me. "I love you so much Riley." I smile. "Not anywhere near as much as I love you Evan." He hums just holding me and before to long I'm back at his apartment. I flop down on the couch eating what's left of my food and Evan joins me. He sits setting his food on the table. He pulls me across his lap and sets his food on my legs. "I like how an hour ago I almost lost you but now it's like nothing ever happened."
He brushes some sauce from my cheek. "Sometimes I get a little on edge Ri and blow things way out of proportion. But all it takes is for you to remind me. I'm sorry about earlier. It was my fault." I kiss his cheek softly. "Evan it's not all on you. I love you and I shouldn't he suggested hiding you. It wasn't fair after everything you've done to not hide me." He pulls my lips to his. "It's over and now we both know better. Let's just leave it at that." I hum pulling his lips back to mine. We kiss for some time before finishing our food and heading to bed.
When I wake in the morning, the birds are chirping and I smile until I feel I'm alone. "Evan?!" I yell and my eyes are closed because I'm half asleep. I don't hear him though. "Evan..." I whine but still nothing. I open my eyes seeing a letter on his pillow. I sit up opening it.
'Riley, I know you're probably wondering where I am. I wrote this so you wouldn't panic. I had to run some errands but I assure you I will be back. I would have taken you with me but you just looked so peaceful and cute. I love you more than words. Call if you need anything or just get lonely. Be back soon. Oh and I got you something. Check the living room. Love Evan'
I smile throwing the covers off of me to see what he got me. There's a big bag in the living room and I sit on the couch opening it. The first thing I feel is another card. 'Riley this is for being such an amazing girlfriend and piece of my life. Can't wait to see you later.' I set the card aside and reach into the bag again. I find a pair of blue high wasted jeans and a white lace crop top with little sleeves. I look over seeing the sandals that he got me. They were white and had flowers coming up the middle of my foot connecting with the ankle strap.
I ran into the bedroom to change just loving his gift. I hear the door open and shut and his keys jingle. He flops down on the couch. "What a morning..." I step out smiling. "Can I help?" He looks at me examining over my body biting his lip. "I know you could." I sit down next to him.
"Hope I wasn't gone to long." I shake my head. "I just got up." He pulls my lips to his. "Baby you look amazing." I hum pushing him back."Why did you buy me this? Where are you taking me?" He hums cupping my face. "Somewhere I've wanted to for a long time. Are you ready?" I kiss him once smiling. "Yep." He takes my hand pull me out of the apartment with him. He doesn't head for his car and I frown. "Evan..." He smiles pulling me closer. "We are just headed to the beach. Are you up for the walk?" I set my head on his shoulder. "Sure. It just shocked me."
He smile kissing the top of my head. It's not long until we are at the beach and he turns to me. "Close your eyes and trust me." I do immediately letting him pull me along. When we stop he drops my hand. "Okay Ri." I open my eyes swing Ashe. "What are you doing here?" She smiles. "Do you remember this spot? It's where mom and dad used to take us to swim because it was shallow here." I nod. "I do remember that but why's it important?"
He takes my hand again. "Because I want to make this place special to you again." He gets down on one knee with a box. "Riley I love you and I needed to buy you a better ring so people know I'm serious about you. So that you know. This is an engagement ring but we don't have to get married until your ready." He opens the box and I gasp. "No this isn't happening!" He smiles. "It is." He opens the box to display a crown ring but it's much more real than mine.
"Is that real?!" He hums handing me the box. "Fourteen carat rose gold with diamonds." I shake my head. "I can't believe you..." I say in amazement. "Is that a yes?" I wrap my arms around his neck and he stands pulling me into him. "Like I could say no." He takes the black crown off my finger replacing it with the knew one. He places the old one in the box along with his old one handing it back to me. He had bought a matching rose gold band.
"Baby girl there's one other surprise." I huff. "What Evan?" He brushes the hair from my face. "I talked to Ashe and she agreed that it's okay, if you would like to, to get the house we talked about." I turn to Ashe. "Ashe I could never leave you." She smiles. "You'll have to one day kiddo. Don't worry about me you'll visit and I'm keeping the house." I turn back to him.
He bites his lip. "You already bought a house huh?" He shakes his head. "No but I got a few picked out." I kiss him. "Well I guess. I don't have a choice." He hugs me. "You have a choice. If you say no it won't hurt me. I'll just know you aren't ready yet." I hug him back burying my face into his neck. "I am but I'm scared."
He smiles. "Of what baby? Think about it. How many times have got stayed at home this week? Once maybe. We practically live together already." I frown. "But what if living together ruins something or we fight too much." He kisses my cheek. "Riley if that does happen we'll fix it because I won't lose you." I smile. "Okay Evan." He pulls back from the hug kissing me. "I love you." I hum setting our noses on each others. "I love you too."
Ashe scuffs. "I never thought my baby sister would get engaged before me." I laugh. "I didn't either Ashe." She shakes her head. "Let's celebrate!!!" I laugh as he picks me up spinning me. When he sets me down we kiss and in this moment I couldn't have asked for anything better. It was perfect. Everything was perfect.
