Me and Maggie are at the shopping mall plaza. Christmas time is near, so we are buying presents. We're both sitting down on a bench, drinking hot chocolate. Maggie seems quiet today, and I know something is wrong.
"You ok, Mags?" I ask.
"What? Oh yeah. I'm fine." She says, and then takes a sip of her drink.
"You don't look fine. Your eyes look....worried. Come on, tell me. What's wrong?"
"I already told you I'm ok." She says, annoyed.
"Maggie, if something is going on at home I-" I start, but then she interrupts by saying, harshly "Glenn, just let it go! I'm fine!"
I don't say anything else. I just need to give her space. A moment filled only with silence passes. Then she says, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to blow up on you....I just have a headache. Can we go now?" She asks.
She is so stubborn sometimes. But I know I can't get anything out of her if she doesn't want to let me in.
I kiss her forehead and say, "Ok, we can go."
