THE AWAKENING

Chapter 2, The beginning

Elena awoke and yawned, sat up straight, smiling as she glanced around Damon's room, it was good to back here, she thought. Damon smiled and turned on his side to face Elena with a wide smile. She smiled widely back at him, picked up another book.

"Elena it's too early to read" damon chuckled

"I can't sleep, and I want to read more, it's intriguing to see what you and Alaric have been up to on your binge drinking trip away" Elena laughed

"Okay okay, I'll see you in the morning as its 2:30" Damon smiled going back to sleep

Dear Elena
Damon and I have gone away for a week or two, we needed to clear our heads but now Caroline has gone into a major hissy fit about Bonnie watching us so we are coming back home soon, I haven't wrote for 3 days so it's now the fifth day as me and Damon were too drunk to think of anything to write but I miss you Elena, I lost my wife and I lost you, you were like a daughter to me and losing you is like losing Jo which I have and it's painful too painful to handle, Damon is busy drowning his sorrows into yet another bottle of vodka, I'm sobering up ready for the journey but he's not, he's going to be sick as its his 6th bottle of vodka in the last hour, he's not doing good whatsoever, when you return hopefully he will change, it's nearly Christmas and we all miss you so much, it's Damon's diary entry next, Alaric X

Elena picked up the next book chuckling

Dear Elena
Alaric is writing this for me because I'm a slight tipsy and I don't want to ruin the whole book, if you was here you would be having the time of your life, vodka shots everywhere and I've downed about 6 bottles in the past hour, I can't even stand that's hilarious, I miss you, I miss you so so much Elena, I can't say anymore cause I don't know how to say I miss you in other words than I miss you, see you soon while I'm gonna die of alcohol poisoning. The next entry is Tyler, Damon Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Elena laughed and looked at Damon, and then picked up the next book

Dear Elena
I have so much to tell you, it's like you're here but you're not, seline is expecting a little girl!! I'm so excited I'm going to be a father, she's so happy and so am I but I'm still broken from your temporary death sleep Elena, you'll always be my best friend, you fought for me when nobody else did during the whole werewolf thing, I miss you so much Elena, it's been 7 days since you've been gone, it's nearly Christmas, our first Christmas without you, I hope we make you proud Elena, we are all thinking of you, the next entry is Caroline, Tyler Xx

I smiled widely and picked up Caroline's book

Dear Elena
I'm finally back and it's been 8 days since you've been gone, we're all counting down and it's Christmas Eve tomorrow, I can't wait to see you in 60 years, I don't want to enjoy Christmas without you, it doesn't feel right, Alaric and Damon are on their way home, Alaric called me he's sober while Damon is In the backseat singing the rain of Spain with bottles of vodka, exciting, I feel bad for Bonnie having to listen to a drunk Damon Salvatore, Lizzie and Josie are finally sleeping, they have been awake for hours crying, I'm surprised they are sleeping, klaus phoned me saying goodbye.. I still miss him but he's bad for me and I have to be a responsible parent, I still can't believe Alaric left me with our kids more his than mine! I'm glad he's coming back because looking after two twins is not easy, you would know what to do Elena, I can just imagine us dancing around the kitchen listening to Christmas music while Damon wound us up as we looked after crying twins and Stefan and Jeremy cracking the beers open, it's not going to be the same without you Elena, the next entry is Bonnie, Caroline xxx

I picked up another book, it was Bonnies

Dear Elena
We are in the car, Damon is singing his whole soul out to rain in Spain, kill me now, wait no I shouldn't say that, never mind, Alaric is sober thank god and Damon on the other hand, he's a drunken mess and he's going to be worse tomorrow and the day after. It's Christmas Eve tomorrow we were all looking forward to it but now not so much, Alaric is going to be grieving you and Jo while looking after his kids, Caroline isn't going to leave Lizzie or Josie, Stefan will be miserable and drink cans of beers in front of the tv, Damon will get drunk to the point he can't even stand, Tyler will be with seline and will probably get drunk with Damon, and I'll be doing the cooking with Enzo, he's finally returning unfortunately, all he does is annoy me anyways,mi have to go we are pulling up outside the Salvatore house, the next entry is Stefan, Bonnie Xxxx
