Chapter 45, Preperation

Jeremy held Elena's hand and closed his eyes, he fount himself at the back of the school and Elena was really giggly, he smiled and hugged her tight and she laughed, Jeremy laughed confused and she put her head on his shoulder, he didn't want to say goodbye to his sister at all but he didn't have a choice anymore, they sat on the ground and laughed together.

"Jet I missed you" Elena smiled

"I missed you too Elena, are you stoned?" He asked

"Lightly buzzed" Elena giggled

"You're the most embarrassing sister ever" Jeremy laughed

"Shut up you love me really" Elena smirked

"Of course I do" Jeremy smiled

"How's everyone?" Elena asked

"Well Stefan being Stefan wants to do the right thing for everyone and Damon being Damon wants to do the wrong thing for everyone, he's like a prisoner guard attached to you're coffin it took me ages to get him away, Bonnie and Caroline haven't really said anything and Katherine, well she's actually been silent I think she actually has a heart, Alannah is heartbroken... And Tyler isn't doing well, Matt hasn't said anything he's just devastated and Hayley misses you" Jeremy frowned

"How's Damon with Alannah?" Elena asked

"I don't know, I saw him sat with her last night as I walked past" Jeremy smiled

"Jeremy you have to look after Damon, if he goes off the wagon he won't be coming back, he won't" Elena frowned

"I promise you I will look after Damon.. Stefan misses you.." Jeremy paused

"I know..." Elena frowned

"They moved you're funeral to tomorrow" Jeremy frowned

"I will be there" Elena smiled

"Elena don't leave not yet" Jeremy frowned

"I need to go.. You have you're sisters funeral to prepare" Elena chuckled

"I love you Elena" Jeremy mumbled

"I love you too Jer" Elena smiled and walked off

Jeremy opened his eyes and released his hand and saw Stefan in the door way, Stefan walked in and Jeremy sighed and closed the lid on the coffin. Stefan patted him on the back and then they both walked out together to see Caroline dressed in a gorgeous black lace dress that was Elena's and she had curled her hair really neatly and smiled, Stefan and Jeremy chuckled.

"Soooo how do I look?" Caroline asked

"Elena's dress.." Jeremy gasped

"Sorry, I'll take it off if you want I had no idea" Caroline frowned

"No You look great care" Jeremy smiled

"Thank you Jeremy! You're nice unlike Stefan" Caroline sighed

"Sorry care you look great" Stefan laughed

"Urgh such a charmer" Caroline smirked

"That's Elena's dress...." Damon paused and stood there

"Damon.." Caroline paused

"Why are you wearing my dead girlfriends dress!?" Damon asked

"Damon she didn't know" Stefan sighed

"No!! Take it off!" Damon shouted and grabbed Caroline's arm

"Ow Damon.. Damon you're hurting me" Caroline whimpered

Damon clutched onto Caroline's arm gripping it tighter and tighter as she whimpered in pain, Jeremy shoved Damon off her and he fell against the wall, Caroline walked off in pain and Stefan looked at his brother, he could see the hurt In his eyes, as he just sat there in silence as Jeremy snarled at him.

"You think Elena would be proud of you for hurting her best friend?! She would be ashamed!! How could you do something like that?!" Jeremy asked and shouted

"Jeremy leave it.." Stefan paused as he saw his brother not retaliate

"Damon if Elena saw you right now she would never love you or look at you in the same way!! She would regret everything!!! She wouldn't love you anymore because of you I lost my sister, you should never of came into her life!!" Jeremy shouted

"Jeremy!!!" Stefan shouted

"Forget it Stefan he's right.. Elena is better without me.. I ruined her life" Damon frowned and walked away

"Jeremy you shouldn't of said that" Stefan frowned

"It's the truth Stefan I want to say goodbye to my sister without him there" Jeremy sighed

"You can't ban him from the funeral" Stefan frowned

"Yes I can and I will" Jeremy frowned and walked off

Damon started to punch things and then Stefan walked in and sat down as he watched Damon throw more things and then Bonnie came through with Katherine and they stood still opposite Stefan as Damon threw more things.

"Damon that's not gonna bring her back" Stefan sighed

"Well it helps me Stefan, shouldn't you be upstairs grooming you're hero hair?" Damon asked and threw a book

"Damon please.." Bonnie frowned

"Sorry but can't you do some witchy arts and craft thing and boom she's back?!" Damon asked

"It doesn't work that way" Bonnie sighed

"Then find a way!!" Damon shouted and threw a glass

"Damon Elena wouldn't want this, Jeremy already said you can't go to her funeral and now you're making it worse" Katherine mumbled

"Katherine don't.." Stefan sighed

"I'm not allowed? She's my girlfriend!! I will be at my girlfriends funeral tomorrow morning, I will get up and get ready and give myself the closure I need and nothing will stop that so If anyone has any objections visit Damon Salvatore's cell phone at my email called i don't care so go ahead and ban me, she's my girlfriend and Katherine don't ever tell me what she would want considering you'll never be like her and I never loved you" Damon snarled and walked off upstairs

"I get it.. I'm not Elena and I never will be" Katherine sighed and walked off

"He's just upset" Bonnie frowned

"This is destroying him Bonnie I don't know what to do" Stefan sighed

"Just relax Stefan, I can let him see Elena one last time and she'll tell him what he needs to do, go get some sleep" Bonnie frowned more

"I will, night" Stefan smiled faintly

Damon laid on Elena's bed upstairs and hugged her jacket close to his chest as he could smell her favourite fragrance on the jacket, tears rolled down his cheeks as he scrolled through pictures of them. He came across a word document and it was a video he played it and saw Elena, Hayley, Rebekah, Caroline and Bonnie in the club they were in the other room and Elena was in an empty room, it was the night of Elena's hen party and Damon watched carefully.

"Hi Damon, I've snuck away from the girls and I'm a little drunk right now but I need to tell you something I've always wanted to tell you, I love you Damon Salvatore and I know I love you because.. Because when you're around my eyes light up and when you're not around they don't. You're smile and you're smirk are too perfect it could barely even be real and you're the one I want to have my future with, not Stefan.. Just you so Damon Salvatore this is Elena Gilbert here and I love you so much!!! Mwah!" She smiled and cheered and then blew a kiss

Damon cried and cried as he replayed the video so many times and then fell to sleep with Elena's jacket close to him. He didn't want to leave her or say goodbye but he didn't have a choice, he had to face the fact that she was gone and she wasn't coming back ever and he couldn't handle it...
