THE AWAKENING

Chapter 10, I'll make it back

Elena, Damon, Klaus, Hayley and Tyler went back to the house to see the girls making cookies, they were smiling and they both ran up to Elena and Damon showing them the cookies that said "We love you mommy" Elena faintly smiled, and Klaus, Tyler walked away as they began to cry. Damon glanced down at Elena as she took the girls into the living room and sat them on the sofa as Elena bent down to talk to them, Damon and Alaric sat beside the girls.

"Aunty Elena look what we made!" Lizzie exclaimed

"that's beautiful girls, listen I have to talk to you both" Elena frowned

"When is mommy coming home? We miss her" Josie frowned

"and Stefan!" Lizzie grinned

"listen girls.. Stefan isn't coming home" Alaric frowned

"Is Mommy?" Lizzie asked

"no.. mommy's not coming home either" Elena frowned

"Why??" Josie and Lizzie asked

"You're mommy has gone to visit the angels for a while to see a friend, and Stefan is very sad about that so he's gone away to see his friend too" Elena faintly smiled

"When will they be back?" Lizzie asked

"All I know is that you're Mommy loves you both so so much, more than anything okay?" Elena asked

"Okay" They smiled

"Girls we are going to stay here okay?" Alaric asked

"Okay" They grinned

The girls ran back to the kitchen to make their cookies, Elena, Damon and Alaric sat watching them, Elena frowned and Alaric shook his head, Damon watched the girls reactions as they were making cookies and then he turned to Elena and Alaric.

"how are those little girls suppose to live without a mother" Damon frowned

"Damon, Elena, I can't take a job of being a proper father to them" Alaric frowned

"We can help you Alaric" Elena smiled

"No what I'm asking is will you two look after the girls for me while I go to Amsterdam to be with my mother" Alaric asked

"Yeah of course, take as much time as you need Alaric, You'll be back for the funeral?" Elena asked

"Yeah, i'll see you soon, bye girls" Alaric shouted

"Bye daddy!" They shouted

"girls come here!" Damon shouted

Lizzie and Josie ran through and Lizzie got on Damon's lap and Josie got on Elena's, They looked confused as nobody said anything and then Stefan walked through, they screamed and ran up to him and he welcomed them into a huge hug, Damon held Elena back and they both stood up, Lizzie and Josie both stood next to Stefan. Elena snarled and thought why the hell is he here, and then Stefan glanced at Elena who looked like she was ready to tear his heart out.

"Girls go upstairs please" Elena pleaded

"Why can't we stay with Stefan" Lizzie mumbled

"Go get ready for bed please girls, I'll be up in a minute" Elena smiled

"Okay" they smiled and ran off upstairs, shutting the door

"Why the hell are you here?" Elena asked

"I live here" Stefan mumbled

"I'm moving then and i'll take the girls with me" Elena snarled

"You can't do that, I'm their legal guardian" Stefan muttered

"I'm sorry Stefan but you lost that chance when you killed their mother!" Elena exclaimed

"I had no choice" Stefan frowned

"Yes you did Stefan!! She didn't really compel you, she took advantage of you!!" Elena shouted

"Stefan I think you should go" Damon looked away

"This is my home!  please Elena" Stefan pleaded

"fine, I don't care. just don't come anywhere near me Stefan" Elena frowned

"Can we talk about this like adults?" Damon asked

"Talk about the fact you're brother took away my human life and my best friend, sure" Elena sarcastically replied

"Lets sit down" Damon mumbled

Elena, Damon and Stefan sat down at the table, Elena opposite Stefan and Damon in the middle of them, Elena snarled and then Stefan looked away, he looked guilty, Lizzie and Josie ran through in their frozen pjs, Elena smiled faintly as they came up and hugged her and damon and then her expression changed as they hugged Stefan.

"I'm going to read them a story, you sure you'll be okay alone with him?" Damon asked

"Yeah i'll be fine" Elena mumbled

"Okay" Damon walked out the door with the girls and shut it quietly

"I'm sorry Elena.." Stefan paused

"Stefan you took away my chance of having children and growing old and being happy" Elena frowned

"I know and I'm so sorry, I never wanted this to happen" Stefan frowned

"But it did Stefan" Elena mumbled

"If I could take it back I could" Stefan faintly smiled

"But you can't.." Elena paused

"I know.. if I could bring Caroline then I would" Stefan frowned

"No you don't get to mention her, I forgive you for killing me but I will never forgive you for taking those little girls mother away, they love you so you need to be around for them" Elena frowned

"Thank you Elena" Stefan smiled

"No don't thank me Stefan, thank you're brother,   I'm going to bed, night" Elena walked off

"Night" Stefan smiled

Elena got her pjs on and got into bed, Damon walked through and sat next to her, she smiled as she got out the box of diaries, and then Damon put them back, she looked confused and then he pressed his finger to her lips.

"You don't need to read tonight, we've had a long day" Damon smiled

"You're right" Elena smiled

"What happened with Stefan?" He asked

"I forgave him for killing me but not for Caroline, Its horrible having to tell two little girls their mum isn't coming back" Elena frowned

"I know.. but we did it" Damon smiled

"Right now we need to focus on giving them little girls a proper happy stable life like Alaric wants, they are our main priority now" Elena sighed

"I know Elena, It will get better" Damon smiled

"I hope so" Elena frowned

"Come here" Damon smiled

He held his arm out and Elena rested her head on his shoulder as he held her tight. Stefan peeped from the side of the door and then went to bed, Caroline was on the other side as she walked into Lizzie and Josie's room, she knew that they couldn't see, hear or touch her but she could, She walked over to Lizzie and stroked her beautiful blonde strand of hair and kissed her gently on her forehead and then walked over to Josie and did the same and then stood in the middle of them.

"Mommy loves you and I promise I'll make it back to you both, night babies" She whispered and blew them a kiss and then she disappeared back into the unknown.

this was a short chapter because the next one is going to be longer, I'm sorry if I offended any Stelena Shippers, they aren't going to hate each other forever. Thanks :)
