She wears a golden band
Upon her unheld hand.
She wears it not for chastity,
Nor for her mental purity.
She wears it, instead, for love.
In hopes that a lovely dove
Will bring her--her soul mate
Before many New Year's dates.
The day she takes it off will be the day
Someone so special, "I love you" will say.
