Jeweled

A lie...

I am a jeweled, bedazzled form of the truth

Hiding in the darkened corner booth.

When the sun catches the gems of my coat,

I'm pulled in the open, set sail on a row boat.

I cannot be left to disappear again,

I can't go back to how I had been.

I am a lie, I am what you wish to hear

I am your greatest wish, and deepest fear.

There is nothing I can do to change who I am,

I am just something to hide behind, a dam.
