Peyton's POV
"What ride are we going on first?" I turn around and look at him with amusement. We were standing by the entrance gate, debating on which ride to go on first.
"How about the sky lift?" He wrapped his arm around my waist and began to walk more into the carnival. "Let's start off slow,"
I slightly turned my head up with a smile on my face, "That's what she said," I burst out laughing, detaching myself from his grip.
"Wow," he looked at me with total amusement. "I thought I was the only one here that makes bad jokes,"
"Please," I rolled my eyes. "My jokes are hilarious,"
"Keep telling yourself that, sweetheart," he sent a little smirk my way and wrapped his arm back around my waist.
We haven't even made ourselves official yet and he's already getting cozy. The kiss back in the car was amazing, but I think after that lil moment, we need to talk out some more details first. I don't even know if he wants me more than just a friend or not.
I popped out of my thoughts when Sawyer brushed his arm off of me. I looked around and saw the lift that went through the trees up the mountain. We waited behind a couple people in the line. It didn't work take too long till it was our turn to get on our lift.
"Come on," he put his hand into mine and pulled me over to the seats. He helped me into the moving seat before he got on. He proceeded to pull the bar down and lock it in place.
We lifted on up the mountain and shortly after the trees engulfed us. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. The tree tops seemed to be so tall they could touch the sky. I looked down to see a little stream running to a small pond. I always loved the outdoors. I hate running on elliptical, but once I was on the trail on the mountain, I was happy.
"This is so pretty," I uttered in astonishment.
"I used to come out here with Anna when I first came into her house," I turned my head to see him staring out the other direction. "It's always been an easy place to talk and get things off my mind,"
"What's on your mind now?" I was still shocked at Sawyer opening up to me.
"Us," he finally looked over to meet my eyes.
"What about us?" I look in his eyes, looking for a sign of what he meant.
"I never want it to end," he leaned in and kissed my cheek. He pulled back with a smile on his face.
I smiled back and leaned back into as he threw his around over my shoulder. We sat there admiring the scenery and each other's company.
I was lost in the beauty of the outdoors, until Sawyer spoke up.
"I'm honestly scared of hurting you," Neither one of us looked at one another. I just moved in closer so I could hold him tighter. "But, I just want you to know that whatever stupid shit I do, I don't mean it. I would never intentionally hurt you,"
"I know," I said reassuringly. I grasped his hand in mine and looked at him. He was still looking away."Look at me, Sawyer," The only reason he won't look at me is because he's afraid to show his emotions through his face, yet is able to show them through his words so easily. He finally turned my way so I could finally see the slight tears in his eyes. "I know," I wrap my arms around his neck and pull us closer together. I put my forehead against his and give him a warm smile, "I trust you,"
