"It'll pass
The swelling never really lasts
But the scar remains remind me
That I'm still living
Well it's not too late
Oh, it's really not worth the fight
No one's right
Well it's time to walk away."
::Walk Away- Green Day::

I spent the rest of the afternoon in the diner. The Killjoys were kind enough to give us food and water.
"Tomorrow morning, we can drive you back into the city if you want." Jet offered.
"And do what? My parents are gone. We have nowhere to go." My head was rested on the wooden table.
"I know, we can talk to Dr. D!" Ghoul suggested.
"We can't bring her into the hideout. She's not a rebel, let alone a Killjoy." Kobra shook his head.
"We can just stay here!" Dylan sat on my lap.
"We can't do that. We need to get mom and dad."
"Yeah, you're sister is right. Sorry little buddy, but it's not safe for you out here." Ghoul smiled at him sadly. I heard the door to the diner swing open, and Party Poison made his way to the table we all sat at.
"Killjoys, may I have a word with you all?" Party crossed his arms. I watched as the three men stood up and followed him outside. Once they had left, I rushed to the door to listen to what they were saying.
"We have to get them out of here." Party demanded.
"They have nowhere to go." Ghoul pleaded with the leader.
"Can it, Ghoul. It's not safe for us to have them around. The Scarecrows came for them, so obviously Korse wants them."
"When did we ever give Korse what he wants? We're Killjoys, damnit!" Ghoul argued.
"Look, we'll just leave them in the city where they won't be hunted down."
"I say we go and get their parents!" Ghoul raised his voice.
"Sorry, Party, I'm with Ghoul on this one." Jet spoke up.
"Kobra, what about you?" Party pleaded with the silent Killjoy.
"We get the parents."
Party sighed. Then, with a tremendous amount of volume, he began to yell.
"FUCK, FINE, WE GO AND GET THE DAMN PARENTS. WE JUST GET THEM AND LEAVE THAT FAMILY BACK IN FUCKING BATTERY CITY. HAPPY NOW?"
I heard Party pause to catch his breath.
"We leave next week." Was all he responded with. I rushed back to my seat and pretended that I didn't hear anything they said. The four Killjoys waltzed back in, three of them grinning broadly.
"We're gonna get your family back!" Ghoul told us excitedly. Party just scowled.
"Thank you so much!" I grabbed Dylan's hand tightly.
"I think I have a plan." Party finally spoke up.

In exactly one week, I would walk into BLI and ask to be recruited to the Scarecrow unit. I would be taken into holding, but I would make sure to leave the doors behind me unlocked, letting the Killjoys enter the building. There, they would cause a distraction to let me sneak away to find my parents. We would escape and go home like nothing ever happened.
I was exited, not gonna lie.
I was going to rebel against the most powerful organisation in the world.
I was going to get my parents back.

Dylan and I got to spend our first night in the diner. Jet and Kobra had laid out some blankets to sleep on the booths. But once again, I couldn't seem to drift off. Once I knew that Dylan had gone to bed, I snuck out to look at the stars, just like the night before.
I sat cross-legged on the desert ground and tilted my head up to the sky, and imagined what outer space felt like.
'It must be really cold. I wonder if there are aliens? What if a meteor hit us right now?'
"Can't sleep either?"
Party stood behind me. I wasn't very pleased to see him, and I was shocked when he sat down next to me.
"No. Too much stuff in my head." I replied.
"I'm sorry I sound like suck a douche. You seem nice, I just don't trust you." Party told me.
"Oh thanks, that makes me feel great." I rolled my eyes, causing Party to sigh.
"I didn't mean for that to sound rude. I mean I want to trust you. You're a fighter. No civilian has ever made it out as far as Zone 6 before."
"It's all thanks to Sugar Bomb, she gave us a ride."
Party widened his eyes.
"Sugar Bomb gave you a ride? She would never trust anyone from the city."
"Well, she trusted us I guess." I shrugged, causing Party to smirk.
"Hey, you might want to keep those clothes as clean as possible. BLI won't believe you're a real citizen if you walk in wearing filthy desert clothes. I have some extra clothes I can give you in the morning."
"Awe thanks Party." I smiled in gratitude.
'Why was he suddenly being all nice and shit?'
But I found myself in a rather social mood that night.
"Hey, if you're not going to bed anytime soon, I could use the company for a little while." I turned to face him. Party tilted his head.
"You want me as company?"
"Yeah, why not?"
"A few hours ago, I had a gun on your face." He chuckled.
"I suppose, but everyone makes mistakes." I let myself lay on the ground, my face straight up to the sky. Party copied, laying down next to me on the dusty concrete parking of the diner.
"What's the big deal with the stars anyways?" He asked me.
"I haven't seen them since I was a little girl. We're not allowed to leave the city, and you can't see them from there."
"That's really depressing." Party commented.
"Yeah, you could say that." I yawned.
It wasn't long before I was finally asleep.
This was my first night ever sleeping under the stars, and it made me feel wonderful.
