"A change came in disguise of revelation, set his soul on fire.
She said she always knew he'd come around.
And the decades disappear
Like sinking ships but we persevere.
God gives us hope, but we still fear what we don't know.
Your mind is poisoned.
Castles in the sky sit stranded, vandalized.
The drawbridge is closing."

"Ghoul, I'm scared."

We had returned back to the diner, after Ghoul dropped the resources off at Electra's shop. I decided to wait in the car that time.

"You'll be fine." He smiled at me reassuringly, but it didn't help me.

"He probably hates me." I muttered. Ghoul sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Why would he hate you?"

I shrugged. I realized that I sounded like a little kid asking out her highschool crush.

'But it's pretty much the same thing.'

I was simply human, and my feelings were normal.

"Now, go get your man." Ghoul slapped my back, then made his own way inside. I paced in circles, my hands on my hips.

"C'mon, Freia. You can do this..." I took a couple of deep breaths, and walked into the diner.

"I need to talk to you." Party grabbed my arm, dragging me back outside.

'Looks like I wasn't the only one thinking about this.'

Party pulled me behind the diner, holding tightly onto my arm.

"Well hello to you too." I mumbled when he let go of my now sore arm.

"Sorry." Party looked down at his feet.

"I need to tell you something." I cringed at my own words. Party's head shot back up.

"I know what you're going to say. You were drunk last night, and I know you didn't mean what you said." His voice sounded disappointing. I tilted my head.

"Wait, I thought you only said you loved me because you were drunk."

Party chuckled softly.

"No, I meant it."

"I meant it, too." The words stumbled out of my mouth. Party's eyes widened in surprise.

"But, you've only known me for a month."

Now it was my turn to laugh.

"So? It's been a crazy ass month."

"It's not right for me to be with you." Party sighed, fidgeting with his jacket.

"Why?" I questioned, feeling a bit let down.

'Man, this is a wild conversation.'

"Because we're in the middle of a radioactive desert, and we could be kidnapped, tortured or killed any second."

I thought for a moment, tapping my foot.

"We can't let this shitty world get in the way of our lives. This is happening right now, and we can't let all of this control us." I motioned to the bleak desert around us. Party let out a small groan of frustration, and began to pace in a circle, much like I was doing earlier.

"It's not safe for 'us' to happen. BLI will use you against me or they'll use me against you or they'll use both of us against each other or-"

I watched the boy mutter to himself, a million thoughts rushing through his head. I couldn't help but softly grin at him. Party stopped, turning to face me.
