It was very early when I woke up in Party's bed. The sun was just starting to rise, and Party was still fast asleep, his bare arm around my not-bare torso. I turned my body around to face the sleeping boy. He was an entirely different person when he slept. He looked younger, and more peaceful. His bright red hair rested on his forehead, and he breathed softly. I wasn't tired, but I didn't want to wake him. Instead, I put my head on his chest, listening for a heartbeat. I felt Party's arm move from my torso, and up to my head, pulling me closer into his chest.

"Good morning." He whispered into my hair.

"I'm sorry, did I wake you up?" I immediately felt embarrassed.

"No, I'm usually up earlier than this." Party shrugged.

"Alright, bitches, time to get up and go." Ghoul was knocking at the door. Before Party could get his friend to piss off, Ghoul slammed open the door.

"Rise and shine, motherfuckers." Ghoul raised his arm in the air. His eyes widened when he saw me resting on Party's bare chest.

"Oh god! The unbefitting sight!" Ghoul clutched his heart, backing away. I rolled my eyes, and pulled Party's brown wool blanked off of me, revealing my clothes from yesterday.

"Shut it." I rolled my eyes at Ghoul, who was fake gagging in the corner of Party's small room. Party yawned, sitting up and swinging his legs onto the floor.

"Ghoul, go see if anyone else wants to come into the city with us." Party ordered, his voice still groggy with sleep.

"Can Dylan come? I think it would be good for him." I asked as Ghoul ran back to the diner.

"I dunno, seems a bit risky." Party thought about my suggestion, pulling his grey t-shirt over his head.

"Please? If we're going back to our old home, I want him to be with me." I begged.

"Fine, but make sure he doesn't slow us down." Party finally agreed with me. I smiled in thankfulness and went to go put on my dark blue jacket, and laced up my boots. Together Party and I walked back into the diner.

"Alright, ready to go?" Jet stood with Ghoul, a black backpack slung over his shoulder.

"Yeah, is Kobra staying behind with Missile?" I asked.

"Oh yeah, it's gonna be a blast." Kobra rolled his eyes, strolling across the room. Dylan was sitting at the table with Missile Kid, swatting around a crumpled up napkin.

"Gear, you're coming with us." Party motioned at my brother to come along.

"Cool!" Dylan jogged over to us.

"No fair! I wanna go!" Missile crossed her arms.

"Next time." Ghoul promised, ruffling the girl's insanely curly hair. I walked with the three Killjoys out to Party's car, and slid into the back of the car. Ghoul sat on the other end, leaving Dylan with the middle seat. Jet sat in shotgun, and tuned on the radio. Party began to drive, listening to Dr. D's daily broadcast.

"Salutations, Killjoys. It's a lovely morning in the desert, and I'm thrilled to report that a certain Killjoy, Val Velocity, has killed a whopping five Dracs single-handed early this morning. Congrats, Val. Now onto the traffic."

"That bitch." Party hissed.

"Shhh, not in front of the kids, asshole." Ghoul shielded Dylan's ears, causing him to giggle.

Party turned the radio off, a sour expression on his face.

"Don't worry, you've probably killed more Dracs than that loser." I reassured him, causing the corners to turn up into a small smile. Jet turned the radio back on, and music flooded through the car.
