The bed was empty when I woke up. It had to be almost noon. I quickly hopped out of the bed, confused as to why no one had woken me up. I quickly threw on my shoes and my black jeans from home, not bothering to change out of the faded grey t-shirt I had slept in. I hurried over into the diner, the bright sun blaring in my eyes.

"Good morning. Glad you could finally get off of your ass and join us." Ghoul winked, holding a cup of some sort of liquid in his hand.

"What's that?" I motioned to the cup.

"Coffee." He smirked. I audibly gasped.

"Where did you get coffee?"

"You can thank Electra for that." Party came behind me, putting his arm around my waist.

"Atomic! Look what I got!" Dylan waved at me. Him and Missile both wore their brand new helmets.

"You look really bad ass." I patted my brother on the head, causing him to scowl.

"I am bad ass."

"Come here, I have something for you." Party whispered in my ear.

"I mean, you've spoiled me enough with the coffee." I responded, grinning softly at him.

"Ohoho, but that's not all." He lead me to an empty chair.

"Close your eyes." He instructed. I obeyed, only to crack my left eye open ever so slightly.

"Hey! I see that!" Ghoul called me out, wrapping his arms over my head.

"Jeez, sorry." I giggled. A few moments later, I felt something heavy drop into my lap.

"Okay, open." Ghoul released my face from his clutches.

A battered old acoustic guitar sat on my lap.

"Holy shit..." My jaw dropped.

"I'm sorry it's in such a bad condition, but it's all I could find." Party explained.

"Are you kidding? This is the best present in the world!" I let my hands run over the body of the guitar. The strings were perfectly intact, and it came with a leather belt to put over my shoulder. I balanced the guitar on the chair, and hurried to give Party a hug.

"Thank you so much." I spoke into his jacket. I felt Party's hand stroke my messy blue hair.

"It's nothing, really. I just thought that you needed one." He smiled, kissing the top of my head. I let go of his shoulders, walking back over to the guitar. I picked it up, and strummed a few chords.

"Shit, this is a good guitar." I whispered.

"Play something for us!" Jet suggested, pulling an old bar stool a few feet in front of me.

"I dunno, I haven't played in years." I plucked the brass guitar string.

"Please?" Ghoul asked, sitting cross-legged on the floor.

"Fine, but it's gonna sound awful." I warned them. Missile and Dylan quickly ran over, copying Ghoul's seated position. Party was next to cross his legs on the ground, looking up at me. Kobra simply stood, leaning against the red booth.

"No pressure, I guess." I joked, beginning to play the noted of a song I barely remembered.

"Look at the stars, look how they shine for you, and everything you do, Yeah they were all yellow."

My voice sounded like most voices do after barely being used in the morning, and I was careful not to let it crack.

"I came along, I wrote a song for you, and all the things you do, and it was called yellow."

The six Killjoys eyes were staring at me, and Party had put on his classic dazed smile that made my heart flip.

"So then I took my turn, oh what a thing to have done, and it was all yellow."

I found myself singing directly to him, occasionally sending a small grin in his direction.

"Your skin, oh yeah your skin and bones, turn into something beautiful. You know, you know I love you so, you know I love you so."

I noticed Ghoul unknowingly swaying along to the song, with Dylan and Missile resting their heads in his lap.

I swam across, I jumped across for you, oh what a thing to do, 'cause you were all yellow.I drew a line, I drew a line for you, oh what a thing to do, and it was all yellow."

I heard my voice chip a little, but not in a bad way. In the emotional way.

"Your skin, oh yeah your skin and bones. Turn into something beautiful. And you know, for you I'd bleed myself dry, for you I'd bleed myself dry."

I couldn't stop myself from thinking about Party.

'Oh, grow up. What are you, fourteen?'

"It's true. Look how they shine for you. Look how they shine for you."

I let those last few lines repeat, letting my head get lost in the song. When the lines finished, I brought myself back down to Earth. This time, I finished, making sure I was looking directly at Party. This was for him, I knew it.

"Look at the stars, look how they shine for you, and all the things that you do."

My voice was softer, and quiet.

"WOOOOOOOOO GO ATOMIC!!!" Ghoul began to clap.

"I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAN!" Jet hollered, using his hands to amplify his voice.

"The guitar suits you." Kobra complimented.

Party just sat there, the stupid grin never leaving his face.

"Was that for me?" He titled his head, finally speaking up. I stuck out my tongue.

"Don't get sappy with me."

Party stood up, towering above where I sat.

"You're so beautiful." He held my cheeks in his rough, warm hands. I closed my eyes when I felt his lips softly press into mine.

"Ewwwww, they're kissing again!" Missile covered her eyes, falling into Ghoul's chest and sending him toppling onto the ground.

"Oh shhhh, it's normal." Dylan rolled his eyes at the squirming girl.

Of course, that entire interaction happened with Party's face pressed into mine, but that's a whole explanation on it's own.
