A week had passed, and I decided to visit the diner. Show Pony had gone to retrieve the old Trans AM. He asked me if I wanted to come along, but I politely declined. I wasn't ready to see that iconic car anytime soon. Val drove me down to Zone 6, as Pony was using my bike. I didn't talk to him the whole ride there, and he respected the silence. The saturninity remained as I stepped out of the car and onto the barren ground. I stared blankly at the empty building in front of me. Nothing had changed. It's chipped blue walls stood out boldly, covered in different posters. The once illuminated sign towered overhead, staring down at me with remorse.

"You okay?" Val asked, standing close at my side.

Those two words were enough to set me off. I felt a tear roll down my cheek, then another. I let in a gross, shaky breath.

"I thought I was going to be fine." I admitted, my voice trembling. Val wrapped his arms around me, shielding me from invisible harm.

"You are fine. You're perfectly fine." Val told me. I didn't believe him.

"I shouldn't be here."

"We can go back to the station, if you want." He suggested.

"I don't mean like that. I should be dead, like the rest of them." I scowled at myself. Val grabbed my shoulders, bending down to reach my height.

"Bullshit. You're supposed to be alive. I'm sorry, sweetheart, but life's a bitch. You're still a child, for Christ's sake." He let out a trembling laugh, completely lacking in humor.

"They saved your life for a reason. You have to finish what they started. I know you think you fucked up. Maybe you did, but you need to grow the hell up and take control of this shit."

I wiped the tears off of my face, nodding while he spoke.

"I'm sorry." I spoke quietly.

"You have nothing to be sorry for." Val lowered his hands from my shoulder, walking back towards the car. I followed him, realizing that it was best if I visited my old home another day. Before I stepped into the car, I spun around to face the diner one last time. Party was standing in the concrete parking lot. Of course, it wasn't actually Party. It was more of a mirage. Ghoul appeared next to him, then Kobra and Jet. They didn't speak a word, instead they simply smiled proudly at me.

"I promise, I'll make things right." I told the ghosts. Party remained still. He blew me a kiss, flashing his signature charming grin. I giggled, another tear falling from my face. It wasn't out of sadness, but out of love.

"Good bye, Party Poison." I gave them one last sardonic grin before they faded into the dust.

"Come on, I don't have all day." Val teased, honking the car horn.

"Jesus, I'm coming." I rolled my eyes, hopping into the passenger seat.

I didn't look back as we drove away.

Okay, so that was book one.

WOOOOOOOO!!

I hope you guys enjoyed it. I'm sorry it was so long. I swear that the chapters will be much longer in the next book.  I can't believe I already hit 1k. That was really fast, considering I started this book just over a month ago.

Tell me what you guys think will happen in the next book. Will Val and Atomic have a future together? Will Korse fuck shit up? Will my writing improve? The answer to all of these is a big maybe.

Anyways, it's been a pleasure writing this, and I'll see you in Sweet Vendetta.
