"Merry Christmas, losers." Kobra yawned, walking over to the table where Party and I sat.
That's right, it was officially Christmas.
Things have been better than ever. Jet had healed completely, and he was back to normal (except for the whole 'missing eye' incident).
The rest of the Killjoys had caught on pretty quickly that me and Party had became a thing, which of course made a lot of other Killjoys recognize me. Some of them admired me, some hated me. I just stopped caring what anyone else thought of me.
I had made plans for a Christmas dinner. I mean, if you call multiple cans of beans a Christmas dinner. I invited all of my friends from the church, Psycho, Dr. D, Cola and Show Pony. We also convinced Leo to leave his basement for the first time in years. Even Electra was coming (to my disappointment). Kobra was against the idea of having a party.
"It's absolutely pointless. Honestly, I know that everything will just get out of hand." He ranted, sitting down across from us.
"Oh c'mon, it'll be fun." Part slapped his brother's back. Kobra just scowled, tracing invisible outlines on the table. I was super exited. This would be the first official meeting between the fab four and my best friends. Dylan was also thrilled at the thought of finally seeing them as well. I hadn't been able to bring him along on any of my outings so far, so he's only heard my stories about them.
"Tell me more about Christmas." Missile asked, tugging on my jacket.
"Well, it's a holiday. It happens once a year and your friends and family come around to celebrate. On Christmas Eve, a big fat man comes in the night while you're sleeping and leaves presents under a tree. When you wake up, you open them." I explained. Missile tilted her head.
"So, a reverse burglar comes into your base and leaves you things?"
"Yeah, pretty much." I chuckled at the six-year-old.
"What does he give you?" She furrowed her brow.
"I dunno. Back when I celebrated Christmas, I always asked for toys and books." I explained. Missile widened her eyes.
"Cool! So if I ask for something, I can get it by tomorrow?"
I held my breath, looking at Kobra and Party. I didn't know what to tell her. We didn't have presents for the kids.
"Yeah, pretty much." Kobra shrugged. I shot him a look, confused as to why he was getting her hopes up. He simply winked.
"THAT'S SO COOL!" Missile ran back down to the basement.
"MAD GEAR, SANTA THE ROBBER IS GONNA GIVE US GUNS!" She screeched.
"NO WAY!" I heard Dylan's muffled voice call back. Ghoul and Jet emerged from the basement.
"What on earth are they yelling about?" Ghoul scratched the back of his head sleepily.
"We told them about Santa Clause, and now they're expecting gifts." I told him, feeling a twinge of guilt in my stomach.
"Don't worry about it, I can take care of presents." Kobra reassured me. The guilt began to drain away.
"Thank you." I smiled gratefully at him.
"I'm gonna head up to Electra's, anyone wanna come?" Kobra asked, standing up.
"I'll come." Party offered, eagerly following his brother.
"We should start getting ready for the Party." I told Ghoul and Jet, after the two brothers had left.
"How are we going to get ready? I mean, have you seen this place? It's not exactly Christmas dinner material." Jet motioned to the run-down diver that surrounded us. I put my hands on my hips.
