The house carried a cold draft, despite it being in the middle of the desert. It showed signs of life, but only by a depressing bed in the corner of the room and cans of alcohol scattered on the floor.

"You live in this dump?" I scoffed at Val, who was making sure that my friends had been escorted out of the nest.

"No, it belonged to a friend." He walked away from the door. I sat down cross-legged on the floor. I had a feeling that I'd be here for a while.

"What do you want to know?" I asked, giving up on all hope of getting out. I could make a run for it, but my foot hurt too much. Besides, a promise is a promise.

'Yeah, because you're so great at keeping those.'

Val stood above me, looking down at where I sat.

"Where did they come from? Before the fires, they must have lived somewhere else."

"New Jersey." I told him. Immediately, guilt flooded over me. Nobody knows that except for Party, Ghoul, Kobra, Jet and I.

"Where did you come from?" He questioned. I looked up at him in alarm. Why did he care where I came from.

"Detroit."

"Why did you come here?"

"So we wouldn't die."

These questions were ridiculous.

"What's Party Poison's real name?"

I shut my mouth firmly. I never really thought about it.

"I don't know." I replied.

"Don't lie to me." Val warned.

"I have no idea." I argued, forcing myself to stand up. Val huffed in frustration.

"Why do you care so much?" I asked him.

"I have my reasons." He smirked.

"Can I go now?" I turned towards the door.

"No, I have more questions."

I rolled my eyes.

"Where's Destroya?" He questioned.

'What is this guy on?'

"What's 'Destroya'?" I tilted my head curiously.

"Don't play dumb. You know what I'm talking about." Val hissed.

"No, I don't." I crossed my arms. This seemed to make Val angry, and towered above me, the same way he did a few hours before.

" I know that Party Poison knows where it is. You're closest to him. You have to know."

"I. Don't. Know." I grit my teeth. Val grabbed my wrist tightly, but released it moments later.

"You can go." He pointed to the door.

"Do you just expect me to walk home?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Vamos and Vaya will drive you." He told me bluntly. I began to limp towards the door.

"Remember, Atomic, I always get what I want." Val informed me in a sing-song voice.

"Oh yeah? What's that?" I looked back at the white-haired man, who seemed entertained at my limping.

"Well, that's up to the imagination."

'Creep.'

I quickly moved myself out of the house. Like Val had promised, Vaya and Vamos were waiting for me, leaning against the black car.

"Get in, loser, we're going to take you back to that stupid diner." Vaya told me, opening the car door. I pulled myself inside, and felt my body jolt forward as Vamos started to drive.

"So, what did Mr. Velocity say?" Vaya asked, speaking Val's name in a baby-like tone.

"Nothing." I lied, slouching my back.

"Mhm, sure." Vamos drummed their fingers on the steering wheel.

"So, are you guys twins or something?" I asked.

"Good god, how could you say such a thing!" Vaya gagged.

"Unfortunately." Vamos scowled.

'Okay then...'

The moon was high in the sky when the twins dropped me off outside of the diner. Right after they sped away, Party rushed out of the swinging doors. He ran towards me, enveloping me in his arms.

"What the hell was that?" He choked, holding me tightly.

"He was going to hurt you. I had to." I responded, resting my head on his chest.

Party guided me inside, balancing me so that I wouldn't have to use my injured foot.

"What did he want from you?" Ghoul questioned me hastily, giving me a tight embrace.

"Information, but I barely gave him any. Speaking of," I turned back to Party,

"Can I talk to you about something?"

He nodded, motioning for the three Killjoys to leave us alone. Once I was sure that they were gone, I let out a deep sigh.

"He wanted to know your name."

Party clenched his jaw.

"Obviously I didn't tell him, because I don't know it." I quickly reassured him.

"What else did he ask you?" Party balled his hand into a fist.

I responded with one word.

"Destroya."

Party's mouth opened slightly in shock.

"How does he know about Destroya?" He spoke softly to himself.

"Party, what's Destroya?" I tilted my head.

"Nothing you need to worry about."

I huffed in frustration.

"Obviously it is!" I argued.

"No, it's not." Party responded calmly. Then he grabbed onto my hand, his eyes pleading with me.

"I promise, everything is going to make sense soon."

I smiled at him sadly.

"Okay, but please tell me if there's danger."

"I promise." Party put one hand on his heart, raising the other in the air, as if he was making a boy scout oath. I rolled my eyes, giggling.

"You're such a dork. I'm going to bed." I punched the snickering Killjoy in the arm.

"You gonna come back into my room soon? I've been lonely." Party told me. I arched my eyebrow.

"How do you even function without me?" I teased, wrapping my arms around his waist.

"When you aren't around, the world ends." Party raved dramatically.

"Oh shut up." I began to kiss him, pulling his jacket collar so his face was at my height.

"Someone's eager." Party prodded after my lips had left his.

"You're really asking for a punch in the face, aren't you?" I put my hands on my hips.

"You know it, darling."

I'm almost done publishing this.
Aaaaaaah.
But don't worry, the sequel will be out right after this is completed.
It's called Sweet Vendetta, and boy, is it ever intense.
I hope you'll keep reading this so I can keep this trilogy going.
Thanks a bunch,
Jordyn
