"Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away.
Now it looks as though they're here to stay.
Oh, I believe in yesterday. "

That night, nobody slept. I didn't remember the last time I had a good nights sleep. Everyone stayed up to congratulate each other's victories.

"Good night, Motorbabies. It's me, Dr. D, tuning in to tell you all about the remarkable job at today's fight. You sent those good-for-nothing Dracs straight back to the hell-hole they came from. We won't be seeing much of them anytime soon. For now, rest up. I hope your dreams are filled with satisfaction. See you later."

Dr. Deaths' voice faded away, and turned into music. No one seemed to care, except for Dylan and I. The only music we got to listen to is the National Anthem. This was much nicer.

"I still cannot believe that you shot two Dracs on your first fight." Party was still in shock about my accomplishment.

"You really did prove yourself."

I felt my cheeks turn red.

"Party, look what you've done to her. The compliments must be making her sick." Ghoul joked, elbowing my arm.

"Yeah, well don't get used to it. Once I get my parents back, no more killing Dracs for me."

The group fell silent.

"Freia, there's a bit of a problem..." Party started explaining. " Korse knows that you shot his Dracs. He'll recognize you if you walk into BLI next week. He'll shoot you on sight.

'Shit!'

"Well, what are we gonna do?" I asked, panic rising in my voice. Party scratched the back of his head.

"Uh, I'm not quite sure." He admitted hopelessly.

"I'll go in." Dylan suggested.

"Dylan, don't be silly." I put my head in my hands.

"No, Storm has a point. Korse didn't see him at the fight. He's off the radar." Jet told me.

"Are you insane? He's eight years old!" I widened my eyes at the curly haired man.

"He's the only chance we have." Ghoul added. I let out a long sigh.

"I'll think about it."

More silence made a home in the diner.

"I'm going to sleep." Party announced after a few minutes.

"Yeah, sleep is a good idea." Ghoul yawned and stood up.

After everyone had left, I turned to Dylan.

"Are you sure you can do it?" I asked him.

"Most definitely." The little boy firmly shook his head.

"Alright then."

"Freia?"

"Yes?"

"Are we Killjoys now?"

I paused to think. Were we? I mean, this was our third night away from home. We can't have become rebels that fast.

"Dylan, you can be whoever you want to be." I responded.

"Then I'm gonna be Storm Crasher." Dylan boasted. I chuckled.

"Sure, you can be Storm Crasher, now go to sleep."

There were no other Drac attacks for the rest of the week. It was oddly quiet, according to Kobra, but it gave me time to learn more about what BLI had done to the world.

"It's just awful!" I exclaimed as I lay on the floor of Party's bedroom. Party hung his head off of the side of his bed to look down at me, his shaggy red hair covering his eyes.

"Now do you understand why we live like this?" He questioned me.

"Yeah, I just don't understand how somebody could be so obsessed with perfection."

"Because they're afraid of loosing control. They're afraid that if it's not their way, it's against them." Party brushed his hair behind his ears, revealing his light, hazel eyes.

"What did you do before the Helium Wars? Your parents certainly didn't name you Party Poision." I asked.

"I don't talk about that stuff with newcomers." Party retorted.

"Please? If I'm never gonna see you after this week, then why would it matter." I sat up off of the ground, my legs crossed. Party sighed and sat down in front of me.

"Just like you, I had a family. Kobra and I, we had loving parents. We live out in New Jersey. Back then, I had an entirely different name. But we were driven out. My parents went missing, we never found them."

"I'm really sorry. That's terrible." I tilted my head. Party gave me a sad smile.

"Yeah, but that was a while ago. How old are you?" Party asked me.

"Seventeen, why?"

"Do you know how to drive?"

"No one ever taught me."

Party's face lit up.

"Well, now you're gonna learn."
