What We Thought

**Justin's Point of View**

We flew back early this morning and I told the doctors. Even though it's late they said they wanted to see Prim now.

I'm nervous every to see what's going on. But I have to stay strong for Prim. I know she's more nervous than I am.

I pull into the parking lot and park my car. I get out and Prim walks up next to me.

I put a bag in the back of my car just in case she has to stay over night. I hope she doesn't.

"Justin I'm nervous." Prim says gripping onto my arm.

"It's ok princess. I'll stay right by your side." I say kissing her hand.

We walk in and I tell the secretary hats going on. Prim's Doctor comes out and takes us back to a room.

"Alright, we immediately have to act on this or else it can get worse."

Prim nods her head and continues to sit on my lap, squeezing the life out of my hand.

"We just need you to lay on the bed and I have to go get the equipment for your ultra sound." the doctor says.

Prim's eyes go wide and she looks at me. I try to give her a reassuring smile because it's at least good the doctors are doing this.

"J-Justin what's an ultra sound? I've never had one. Does it hurt?" she asks.

"No baby girl, it doesn't hurt. He's just going to put cool blue gel on your scars and use a smooth tool to see inside. I promise you it won't hurt, it'll just feel cold." I say rubbing her hand.

Te Doctor comes back in and tells Prim to lift up her shirt a little. She does what he says.

After Prim's ultra sound is done we wait in the room. The Doctor comes back in and lays down a chart.

"It's what we thought." he says, "The whip Chad used on you Prim had a certain metal in it. When it hits the skin at first it doesn't react but when the scars form it layers underneath. It sinks into your body and can cause your internal organs to get scratched up. The metal is only in one spot of your body. We can get you all settled in and you'll have to stay overnight so we can operate on you." the doctor says sighing at the end.

Prim breathes fast and I try not to curse under my breath. I feel nails dig into my hand and I wince in pain.

If it helps Prim I don't care.

"Sir," the doctor says turning towards me, "Did you get hit my Chad as well?"

"Not with a whip but with this ring kind of thing which scratched me."

"Is it a scar?"

"It's turning into one." I say.

He goes out of the room and Prim looks at me with teary eyes.

"Will I be ok?" she asks in a whisper.

"All I can promise you is that these doctors know what they're doing."

Another bed gets rolled into the rather large room and charts are placed at the foot of it.

"Justin? Lay in the bed. We fear you could have this too."
