Kyungsoo
I was happily munching on my food while Baekhyun kept talking about what happened in his life. He was studying at home now and was happy with how everything was going.
I was honestly happy for my best friend, he deserved a good life, but somewhere deep inside me I felt sad I didn't have it. I ignored it and smiled at him. "How did you meet Chanyeol?"
"When you... Well left, he came into our high school. We started hanging out and there you have it." He rested his head on his arm as he watched me eat. "We didn't met on a vacation in Paris or something. It was simple."
"Simple love is the best," I told him. Even though I hadn't really experienced it, it seemed like a good thing to say.
He nodded in agreement, "it's been almost two years, so not bad ey?" A laugh escaped his mouth by the memory of his lover.
"I wanna meet him," I decided while stuffing another piece of food in my mouth. "He sounds nice."
"Of course he is, but now I wanna talk about you." Baekhyun shifted on his seat and looked at me in excitement. "What are you planning on doing now?"
I let out a sigh of relief that he didn't asked about my past. "I wanna live a normal life." I started. "I think that starts with finding a job."
"Oh!" He suddenly shrieks. "Chanyeol can help you with that!"
"What?" I asked not understanding. "How?"
"He needs a new employee," Baekhyun explains. "I'll tell him you are interested."
"Baek, I was in prison. I don't know if he wants me." I said, starting to feel insecure about my plan.
"You are my friend, he'll listen to me." Baekhyun replied. "I'm sure."
"What do I have to do then?" I asked. "Not that I'm picky."
"Chanyeol owns a couple bookshops."
"Sounds nice, I hope he will consider me." I started to have a bit of faith in my future. Working in a bookshop sounds nice.
"Don't worry, let me handle this." He flashed me an encouraging smile, but then seemed to think of something. "Hey, don't you have any luggage?"
"Uhm... No, I don't have anything." I pushed the empty plate away, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"We should go shopping then tomorrow," Baekhyun's face brightened up by the idea. "I'll buy you stuff."
"I can't ask you that," I protested while looking down at my hands.
"Nonsense!" Baekhyun scoffed. "You're my friend, I wanna do this for you."
A warm feeling flowed over me by hearing him call me his friend. I felt wanted and I hadn't felt that way in such a long time. "Thank you so much."
"Don't get all sentimental now," Baekhyun chuckled. "I've missed you."
"I've missed you too Baekie," I smiled at him and yawned.
"Are you tired?" He asked. "You can use the guestroom."
"Yes, thank you." I rubbed my eyes and stood up, following Baekhyun upstairs. He opened the door to a little room and let me walk in. It had a bed in it, a small television and a closet.
"You can use the shower too, the bathroom is at the end of the hallway. I'll lay down a toothbrush for you." Baekhyun said and disappeared.
I bit my lip as I looked down at the bed in front of me. Somehow it made me emotional. I snapped out of my thoughts and searched for the bathroom. I undressed and turned on the hot water, mixing it with cold. I finally felt my muscles relax as the water slid down my body.
After I was done I brushed my teeth and as I was about to walk back to the guestroom I bumped into Baekhyun.
"I just wanted to say good night," he spoke and before I knew it he hugged me tightly. I hesitated for a moment, but then rubbed his back. "Good night Baekie."
He smiled brightly at me before I walked to the bedroom. Gosh, I was so tired. I dropped myself on the soft mattress and closed my eyes, feeling the fresh sheets underneath my fingers.
I felt good.
