Jongin

"Good night baby," I whispered in Kyungsoo's ear as I pulled the sheets up over his shoulder.

"Sleep well," he murmured back, obviously tired.

I smiled at the adorable sight and kissed his cheek, pulling him closer to my body.

When I was sure Kyungsoo was asleep, I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and decided to see what Kris had texted me.

Kris: Hey, just wondering if you are free anytime soon.

I looked at my side to see Kyungsoo breathing peacefully. It made me feel bad somehow. It wasn't like I was lying to him. If he asked me if I had given Kris my number, I'd say yes. But I didn't tell him either and that made me feel like it was a secret.
I was just curious what Kris had to say and I was afraid Kyungsoo would get mad and not let me talk to him.

I sighed before texting back.

Jongin: Why?

Kris: Just wanna hang out with you

Jongin: Okay, I guess

Kris: That's a yes?

Jongin: Sure

Kris: Come to the cafe where we bought coffee tomorrow after work

Jongin: I can't. Kyungsoo

Kris: Don't you have a break?

Jongin: Yeah at one

Kris: See you then?

Jongin: Alright

I turned my phone off and cuddled closer to Kyungsoo's warm body. "I love you," I spoke softly. "I really do."

Kyungsoo

In my dream I was standing in front of the tree where my parents ashes were. I was on my knees and somehow I couldn't move my feet. It felt like they weren't part of my body. Stone.

It startled me when suddenly voices started to rise out of the tree. It scared me even more when I realised from who they were. My parents.

"Kyungsoo, darling?" My mother asked. "Why did you do it?"

I wanted to move, but I couldn't. "I... I..."

"Do you know how much we suffered?" My dad spoke. "Because of you?"

"I d... Didn't me... Mean to." I stammered.

"Tell me why." My mother spoke again. "What did we do to deserve this?"

"N... Nothing." I felt the tears starting to form in my eyes. "It wasn't me."

"Lies." It came from everywhere. Echoing like we were in a cave. "Lies."

"No!" I looked around me in panic, but all I saw was blackness. "No, it's not!"

"Why didn't you visit us like you use to?" My dad asked. "Don't you feel sorry anymore?"

"I do!" I started yelling. "I will always regret the things I've done!" I wiped a few tears away that had escaped my eyes. "I was in a youth prison, b... Because..." I couldn't say it. The words didn't want to leave my mouth.

"You killed us Kyungsoo." The voices echoed all around me. The leaves that were hanging from the branches of the tree started whispering from the sudden breeze.

"No!" I cried out. "No."

"Kyungsoo!" A different voice filled my ears. It was close, but I was still only surrounded by darkness.
Suddenly I felt my body started to shake. I couldn't control it. "Kyungsoo!"

I snapped out of my dream like I had just been in a coma. It felt like suddenly my breath came back and I jerked up.
The figure that was hovered over me became clear and I stared back at a worried Jongin. He immediately pulled my head against his chest, "you had a nightmare, didn't you?"

I wanted to speak, but my throat was too dry, so I nodded.

"You kept saying 'no' and you were crying."

I reached out to touch the skin underneath my eye and it was indeed wet. I took a shivery breath and pressed my smaller body against Jongin's. "I... I'm sorry."

He rubbed my back to comfort me, while his other hand was tangled in my hair. I closed my eyes and took the time to realize what I just had heard wasn't real. This was real. Jongin was real.

"For what baby?" He pulled away only to cup my face.

"For waking you up," I explained.

"Don't ever say that again," he said with a frown. "And you didn't, I was still awake."

My eyes drifted away from his to find the alarm clock on his nightstand. It was around two in the morning. "How come?"

Jongin just shrugged and let go of me to climb out of bed.

"Where are you going?" I asked, afraid that he would leave me alone. I was about to follow him when he raised his hand. "I'm gonna get you some water. Stay here." He ordered me like I was a dog and disappeared.

I jumped out of surprise when my phone buzzed. I took it from the nightstand beside of me and blinked at the sudden light that came from the screen.

Unknown number: Aren't you afraid of losing people? Sometimes it keeps me awake.

Fuck off Kris. I threw my phone on the nightstand again. What does he mean? "Ahhh!" He was driving me crazy. I covered my face with my hands.

"Are you alright?" Jongin asked as he returned. "What are you doing?"

"I'm fine." I sighed before removing my hands again to take the glass from him. "Thanks."

He laid next to me on his back and watched me. "You wanna talk about your dream?"

"Not really." I placed the cup on the nightstand and laid down too. "It was about my parents."

"Oh." Jongin pulled my body closer and covered us with the sheets. "It's late, we should sleep."

I nodded and buried my head in his chest, "I love you."

"Love you too."
