After flipping her hair back off her face, she came up to the bar between Riddick and another man, who offered her the stool, which she accepted. Riddick kept his face toward the dance floor, taking a drink from his beer as if she wasn't there, but he was all too aware of her. She leaned over the bar, yelling for Boone who came jogging over to her.
"Shit Babe. You just won me 100 creds."
"Good, then you can afford to buy me a drink, and bring me the one I didn't finish from earlier, too. So, what was the bet?"
Riddick was listening to their conversation as best he could given the music. Thankfully, her voice wasn't one of those bitchy, nasal kind. It was deeper, in a sexy, bedroom way with a smoky quality that resonated through him.
Boone grinned and told her,"I bet Trey that you'd have the guy flat on his face and break his arm. He thought you were gonna flip him on his ass, sit on him and threaten to turn him into a eunuch."
"Well, it was his wrist, but glad I didn't disappoint both of you."
"You want another special?" he offered.
"Mmm, no. Bring me a shot. I don't care what. Surprise me." Boone handed her the drink to finish and walked off to get her shot. She remained as she was, but was also taking in an eyeful of the man next to her as she swiveled around to face the floor.
She's checkin' me out and she's aroused. I can smell it.
Kyra was flying high. Whether she would admit it or not, the dance with the blond had turned her on, and laying that guy on his ass sent a surge of adrenalin through her. Put the two together and she needed an outlet.
It's been too long since I've kicked someone's ass for real, she thought. That prick earlier was a warm up. Don't have chances to bring it on like that too much any more. Have to admit, I fucking enjoyed it. Wonder what else the night will bring?
When she was walking toward the bar from the dance floor, her eyes had been immediately drawn to him. Despite her protests of not wanting to get involved, she had definitely taken notice of this one. Could get interesting. Can't tell how tall he is sitting down, maybe six feet? He's no fair haired pretty boy, that's for sure. I can't stand golden boys. Goatee, tightly shaved military cut...not bad. He fits my type according to Randy. Shit. Now I'm listening to Randy? Screw it. Wonder if this is the guy he invited. He does fits the description.
After Boone left, she took the opportunity for a longer look from the side. He was facing forward, but she knew he saw her checking him out.
Damn, he's ripped. Don't think I've seen a guy built like him in years. She squirmed slightly on her stool, her fingers itching to trace his huge pecs. That shirt absolutely clings to him like a second skin, too. Hmmm. Wonder what he looks like without it? She chewed her lower lip as she felt her face flush and that long forgotten feeling of desire wash through her. Getting turned on by dancing with a woman was one thing - but by a man? She hadn't had that happen in years. Not since Rob.
Kyra girl, what the hell are you doing? I haven't taken the time to check anyone out much less consider acting on anything. I haven't even so much as hugged a man other than Randy, Iman and Grant since Rob. Here I am potentially lusting after a guy I don't even know? I'm just drunk. That's it. And I'm feeling the rush from the fight and that dance. That's all this is.
It was right about that time that he spoke, capturing her attention.
Kyra cocked her head in his direction, startled back into reality. It was the first time she saw his eyes, too - stormy blue and beautiful. Yeah, she could easily get lost in them. "Hmm? Did you say something?"
