"Which one?" I ask Evan. He leans against the glass and his eyes search for a ring.
"That one." He says pointing to a ring with a heart on it. The lady opens the glass and carefully takes out the ring. "Here you go." She says setting in on the glass table.
"Yeah, that's the one." I say as I observe it. Finally, I've brought myself to ask Ethan to marry me. I'm just waiting for the perfect moment.
"Okay, we'll take it." Evan says as he pulls out his wallet. "No," I say and grab his wrist. "I'm paying."
He stays quiet and nods. After paying, we leave and I'm suddenly nervous.
"Don't be nervous. He's going to say yes." Evan reassures me. I nod and grip onto the small black case.
I hope so.
