I rest my elbows on my knees, covering my face with the palm of my hands.

"You okay?" I hear Evans raspy voice approach me. I look up at him, tears in my eyes.

"What happened?" He asks me putting his crutches aside and sitting next to me.

I don't respond.

"Ma'am." Evan says to a nurse walking by.

"Yes?" She says smiling down at him. "Can you tell me what's wrong with Ethan Smith. Please?"

She nods and tell him she'll be back. A couple seconds pass and I just can't keep it in anymore.

"He can't remember anything." I blurt out, unable to hold it in anymore. He freezes.

"What?" His voice trembles.

Tear spill out of my eyes.

The tears won.

I sob, unable to control myself. "He doesn't remember anything!" I yell sobbing.

He leans against the wall, his breathing becomes uneven again.

"Sir!" The nurse runs towards Evan, dropping her clipboard.

Pathetic sounds leave my mouth as I stare at Evan in shock and terror.

He gasps, his eyes wide open.

"His heartbeats failing!" The nurse yells as Doctors quickly run towards Evan.

Then everything is muffled. The screams of people are just muffled sounds to me.

It's like everything stopped. The nurse struggles to keep Evan up. Evans eyes close as I stare at him.

They carry him onto a hospital bed and roll the bed down the hall. I absentmindedly run after them.

"His heart is failing!" The nurse yells for the third time. "Quick!"

"Sir!" One of the doctors hold me back as they push Evan into another room.

"Let go!" I yell as hot, salty tears run down my face. "Please!"

"Sir!" I give up and stand there, watching as my world collapses.
