"Dad!"

I turn around and smile as Liam runs into my arms. "Hey buddy!" I yell as I kneel down, giving him access to wrap his arms around my neck. "I missed you!" I say as I ruffle his hair.

He smiles, that cheesy smile Mason and I love. His bunny smile quickly turns into a grin as he digs into his backpack.

He pulls a piece of paper from his backpack and eagerly shows me it. "It's us!" He says in his adorable accent. The paper is filled with bright colors, a little stick person stand in the middle of two larger ones.

I smile and ruffle his soft, delicate brown hair. "Dad?" Liam says his grin slowly faltering. "Yes?" I say giving his a concerned look.

"Do I have a mom?" I look at him. Truth is, we still don't know where Abby is. And we might not ever know.

"Why do you ask that?" I ask smiling.

"People tease me because I don't have a mother." He says embarrassment laced with his voice. I chuckle, "So?" I say as he looks up at me.

"What's wrong with being different?" I say. "Besides, not all of them have an actor as a father." I say lifting him off the ground.

He giggles and wraps his arms around my neck. "I love you."

I love you too.

"Liam!" I hear Mason yell as he walks into the backyard. "I got you something!" He yells running back into the large home.

Liam runs right behind him, I follow right behind him. I push the french doors wide open as I walk into the large living room. Mason stands in the middle of the large living room, a white small puppy sits in front of Mason.

Liam jumps onto the large white couch. He playfully screams and then cautiously crawls towards the puppy.

"What's this?" I say as a smile creeps onto my face. "A puppy." Mason says kneeling down, petting the puppys small head.

Liam happily rubs the puppys tummy, his tail wags happily as Liam giggles.

The dark wood floor makes the puppy looks smaller than it actually is. Liams giggles echo through the high ceilings.

"How are you going to buy all the things you need for this little one?" I say nodding towards the small creature.

"The store." He says immediately.

I shake my head, uncontrollably smiling. This is what I've always wished for. Having a small family, big home, and a happy life.

I remember struggling, trying to figure out what path I'll take. I remember having to hide pain. I remember trying to numb the 'pain'.

Losing faith in life. Drinking until my feelings just fade away.

Mason glances up at me and smiles. That rectangular smile I love.

I can't imagine not being able to live this life.
