Masons P.O.V
I sit on the couch, eating my lunch when I hear the ringing of my phone.
I pick my phone up while still watching the movie. I finally look down at my phones screen when I see I've received a message from Ethan.
I haven't talked to him since he left. I hesitantly opened the text.
I'm coming back this weekend. Hope we can talk everything out.
And I'm suddenly nervous.
I feel my pulse quicken as I realize this weekend is only four days away. How am I going to tell him it's over?
Do I want it to be over?
I feel a sea of anxiety deep down inside me. I could feel my nerves tingling like being tickled with a small feather.
I don't answer him, instead I turn off my phone and continue watching the movie.

I walk down the hotels hallway as I walk towards Carters apartment.
I knock on the door and soon enough Carter opens the door. He wears sweatpants and a black sweatshirt, his hair is a mess and his eyes are still droopy with sleep. "What do you want?" he chokes out.
"Just wanted to hang out." I say and push the door open.
"Shouldn't you be with Abby?" he says stepping aside while yawning.
"She's been at work since eight. I told her not to go but as usual she didn't listen to me." I say and sit on the couch sighing. "Ethan texted me today."
"Really?" Carter says finally paying attention. "What'd he say?"
"He's coming this weekend." I state. His eyes widen in shock. "You're not nervous?"
I hesitate, "yeah. But he'll understand."
"Will he?" Carter says looking at me, concern radiating off of his face. "Mason, you guys have been friends since...I don't know. Forever? And he has special feelings for you and you have special feelings for him as well. You guys have something special. Are you really going to let a girl you met not even four months ago ruin that?"
I don't answer him. Instead I remember Ethans face. I remember walking home from school and confessing. Five years ago.
"Think about how he'll react. Think about how the Ethan you know will react."
