Dexter was now sitting back down on his bed trying to figure it all out. He was beginning to remember everything. The wreckage, the eerie violet pulsating light, the spacecraft, the alien, and of course the strange device which was now living in the left side of his chest. It was all happening too fast for him. he was beginning to feel like he was riding the tilt a whirl at an amusement park. Suddenly, he began hearing footsteps approaching the cabin. He peered out of the window an saw a strange individual coming up the trail, the strange thing was he was more than four hundred yards away, but he could hear him just as loud and clear like he was right there. He threw on a t-shirt and some gym shorts which of course, no longer fit, and went outside on the porch to meet the individual. He was a skinny frail individual. Caucasian wearing cargo shorts and a plain black polo. He had on worn hiking boots and was carrying some sort of device. Dexter didn't know what to expect from him so he just readied himself for whatever. The man smelled like garlic and spice, which was a seemingly bad mixture. He had a very narrow face with no facial hair. The hair on his head was combed straight back which made him look like Bowser from the old Shanana singing group. By the time he reached the front porch of the cabin, Dexter could see that the individual was somewhat perturbed. "Yes ?" Can I help you? Dexter asked stepping through the door to meet the strange individual. "Yes! You can help me, you can give me what you took from the crash site ." He answered rather curtly. "First of all, who are you, Second of all, what are you talking about." Dexter made sure he didn't break eye contact even though his new guest had at least once or twice." My name is of no importance to you, but if you must know, my name is Grafter, Dr. Simon Grafter Astrologist, and physicist, the other night you took something from the crash site, where is it !" He said domineeringly. Dexter had come down the stairs of the cabin to face Grafter and his so-called rage. " I don't know what you are referring to Dr. Grafter, now if you will excuse me. " Just as Dexter was turning to go back up the stairs into the cabin, Grafter made the worse mistake he could have ever made. He grabbed Dexter by his now mutated muscular arm, and Dexter had effortlessly tossed him away like a filthy old rag doll. The move caused Grafter to slide at least a hundred feet against the gravel on the trail once he hit the ground. By the time he stopped, Dexter was already heading into the house and away from his new friend, Dr. Simon Grafter. But somehow he knew that their paths would cross once more.
Just as he returned to the cabin, he saw another strange device sitting on the table. It looked like a four-sided triangular box of some sort but had the same markings that the alien's ship had. "Maybe this will give me the answers that I need." Dexter had thought to himself. He went to the window to see if his new friend was totally gone. he was. No more Grafter. He went to examine its contents of the strange box, But when he went to touch it, it opened itself automatically and began to produce a hologram image of the alien creature he had encountered, which he thought, or assumed, the previous night, but in reality, it had already been three weeks later.
The alien image stood in the living room of his cabin resembling a phantasmic ghostly futuristic image, majestically giving him an explanation of all that had transpired. "Greetings Dexter Drake, I am called Xil Ha' and it is an honor to meet you once again." I see that the Quantum device has merged with you perfectly." "Do not be alarmed earth dweller, you have been chosen by the high inner-galactic council of Orion 8, to carry out the duties of a Sentinel here on earth, and throughout this quadrant. You are to defend this planet from all hurt, harm, and unseen danger as an inter-galactic peace officer so long as the power of the cosmic Quantum dwells within you". " Soon, you will be transported here to Orion 8 to receive your Sentinel training as others, like yourself, who have been chosen throughout the universe." Orion 8"? "What the hell is an Orion 8?" Dexter thought to himself. I am glad you asked that Dexter Drake." The alien image said as it shrunk out of view. The cabins living room was transformed into a private planetary light show. It took him out of earth atmosphere, past the surrounding planets, jetting pass the sun, and just behind it, a wormhole materialized and took him to a hidden part of the universe which was obviously hidden from any man-made telescope.
Orion 8 was incredible. The image showed a great futuristic city complete with building structures flying vehicles, and all types of different alien life forms all moving about as if we're here on earth. In the very center of the city, as the image began to show, sat a great citadel. It kind of reminded him of Disney's Epcot center, where all of the roads led to that one place. It then took him to a great hall, and through two incredibly large doors which seemed to open up as he got closer. It then revealed seven different alien creatures all wearing similar robes, but there was one seat which appeared to be vacant. Dexter quickly made a mental note of it, for future reference.
The alien went on to explain more of the great city as it returned to its normal size, and back into Dexter's view."You shall learn more of Orion 8 upon your arrival, Dexter Drake. "It is now time for you to make your very first transformation into this earths Sentinel."
