Orion 8 was breathtaking.  the sky was blue-green and the temperature was always seventy-five degrees, day or night, even in shaded areas. The buildings looked like neatly cut tall shards of crystals and white marble which reflected the two suns which the planet orbited. Other vessels, small and large hurried about in crisscross motion much like they did on earth's expressways but they were well above and away from its city dwellers. Their transport craft was making its final descent into the holding port. Mia wasn't used to this type of travel especially the way they left earth's atmosphere. she felt her legs giving way as the craft leveled off. "You okay?" Dexter asked taking her gently by her hand. "Yeah, I'm good. Just going to take some getting used to." She replied looking about through the large glass window. There was no piolet for the craft. everything was automatically programmed to pick them up and drop them off. Once the doors slid opened they both emerged from the craft. Alien Beings from all types walked about minding their business. "Are these all Sentinels Dex?" Mia had asked looking about. "No. most of them work and live here on Orion 8." " The Sentinels have living quarters near the Citadel, that's where the Inner Galactic council is." "Where is that?" She asked looking about. He walked her over to a long crystal railing and pointed to the Citadel.  It was a white and gold building which sat dead center of every path and walkway. It kind of reminded her of the emerald city from the Wizard of Oz. It was the tallest of all building structures and could probably be seen for miles away especially with two suns

Mia's physical appearance was more alien than human. firey red hair, white glowing eyes with no pupils. bronzed tanned skin, and of course her new body frame. That's what happens when your lover is Sentinel who transfers 200 million regenerating cosmically enhanced nano bytes into your DNA. Yup, not coming back from this regular she thought to her self. Just then a smaller two seated hovercraft had pulled up to them, again with no driver. They climbed aboard and it took off towards the Sentinels quarters.

Mia was trying her best to take it all in as the craft moved on.  as overwhelmed as she was, she kept her cool about it. Dexter looked over at her "You okay Mia?" He asked putting his arm around her to bring her closer to himself. "I'm Good Dex, just trying to take it all in." "We are truly on the other side of the universe without a change of clothes, no money, and no idea what's waiting for us once we get to that inner council hall." Dexter knew she had made a valid point. They didn't know what to expect. "Well, they are either going to fix you or find a way to embellish on what's been done." And that's my most honest speculation." But, even he was unsure how the council would respond to the entire matter. He was chosen to be a Sentinel, she, on the other hand, was given the alien technological enhancements, and that might cause some conflict with the council.

Moments later the two had arrived at the Sentinels living quarters. There were very few aliens humanoids moving about. maybe just a few Sentinels out of uniform but Dexter knew who they were from the different Quantum symbols they wore on their robes. Sentinels only use these quarters periodically when they needed to speak to the council or investigate a matter there on Orion 8. There were still crimes there to solve just like on earth. As beautiful and breathtaking as the planet was, there were still wayward aliens breaking laws there as well. "Dex, are there any other Sentinels here?" Mia asked. "Anyone you see wearing a Quantum emblem on their clothing is a Sentinel,"  Dexter replied as he motioned without directly pointing to them. "Do you know them?" Mia asked. "No they are apart of a different legion of Sentinels and they all have their own planets to protect like I protect the earth. And with that, the two climbed aboard one of several crystalized elevator cars and immediately went upwards towards the floor where Dexters living Quarters were.

It didn't take long for them to reach Dexter's unit. It was actually three doors away from the elevators. Once they reached the actual unit, Dexter stood directly in front of the doubled white doors.  A purplish scanning beam covered his entire body and another smaller blue beam scanned him. This was the only way to enter the units. there were no keys. Once the doors slid open, the entire space was illuminated. "Hello, once again Doctor Dexter Drake." Shall I continue to implement earth living protocols?" A soothing voice said from somewhere in the unit. Yes, Sam."  Dexter replied. "Dexter?! You've got a Jarvis??!! Mia said as she immediately grabbed his arm excited. Dexter just smiled at her initial reaction. "Not a Jarvis but something like it. Think of it like this, the entire unit is like an iPhone 20. The earth protocols was a program that allowed him to live as he was back on earth.   Replicators for his attire and earth's food was already programmed in the units system. The entire room was done in white with green, purple and red furniture which hovered three and a half feet from the floor.  It had a large tall eight-foot window that spanned the entire unit, an gave a picture-perfect view of downtown Orion. The room, although large and opened, only had what looked like a living room, a study, a master bedroom, a media room to watch movies, which Dexter had programmed to play thousands of his favorites at his disposal and a what looked like a bathroom with white marble and gold accents. Mia was expecting to see some new form of toilet and shower, but much to her surprise, the overall look of the bathroom was just like it was on earth.  Dexter had taken a seat as Mia continued her tour of the unit. Five or so minutes later she had finally joined Dexter on the hovering couch. "So, lover, what's our next move since we have so much time on our hands," Mia asked laying her head on his chest. Well, we could go out later and check out the city at night." Not that she was against hitting the streets of Orion, but she had other things on her mind. You mean to tell me your Quantum badge doesn't allow you to read minds?" Dexter immediately knew what she meant, but was somewhat hesitant to the idea. "Uh, that's what got us here didn't it?"  Mia had pulled something from her pocket that Kiyanna had given her right before they went off-world. "Is that what I think it is Mia?" Dexter asked smiling. Mia was playfully dangling three specially designed condoms between her thumb and index finger. "Where did you get those?!" Dexter eagerly asked. It's a prototype your friend Dr. Jones was working on."Metahuman condoms, hmm."
