The Sentinel of Earth.

Pinnacle for the steal.

           Every attempt to calm Captain Pinnacle down was failing them. Jones and Gideon were the only two powerhouses from the group and were getting their butts handed to them. Pinnacle was much too strong and much too fast. Trick-shot was just about out of his specialized arrows, and Kiyanna was trying her best to keep Mia away from the fighting. "This is pointless." Mia finally said. He's too strong for them." They had managed to move the fight to an open field, just outside the city limits, but either way, they would need the right leverage to beat the surviving son of Millennium-city. 

              "Where is Dex?" Mia said under breath, looking towards the sky as if hoping for his triumphant return. "I am sure that his brothers and sister of their creed have defeated the threat and will soon be on their way." Kiyanna kept her gaze on the battle as Jones and Gideon did their very best to stop Pinnacle. But, by this time Pinnacle's anger had turned into a sick form of amusement. He was besting the bionic rich boy and his great Alpha Force. Finally, Pinnacle had created a tornado throwing everything in the vicinity about, including his three attackers. He knew he could kill them in an instant if he really wanted too, but he already had one death on his hands. 

              Finally, after being tossed around like rag dolls, Jones could hear an all to a familiar sound, it was the sound of the Sentinel of earth. His good friend Dexter was heading in his direction. "It's over Pinnacle." Stand down!!" "Was that an order Jones?!" "Maybe you haven't heard, I'm through taking orders from people who don't matter !" "You three put up a good fight, but who I really want is the Sentinel! " " Let's see what he can do! " Suddenly, the Sentinel had arrived. "You want me?" "Well, here I am Pinnacle," Dexter said landing just between them both. This could be the start of something or the end of something Jones had thought to himself.

                      The rest of the team, including Mia, were waiting to see what Pinnacle would do.  " I was wondering when you were going to show up." " You think you can take me on too eh?!" Dexter just looked at him. "I'm not here to take you on Pinnacle, but if you want a fight, I'll be more than happy to  give you one." "But haven't you done enough already?" "Your return to normal life was supposed to be about overcoming your hurdles, instead, you're lashing out like a little boy throwing a tantrum." "Who are you calling little boy ?! " I'll show you what  this little boy can do !"  Pinnacle pulled his mighty fist back, and threw the hardest punch he could have mustered up, but Dexter just halted it with his right hand catching his fist in mid-throw. And, even though the force from the blow had blown everything else back, Dexter, however, was unmoved. Pinnacle stood back in amazement as his best, and strongest punch was stopped."You see Daniel, it doesn't really matter how you came to be, or even what you have been through, what matters most is where you are going." "Now, you can be the hero you once were, or you can continue becoming the villain, the choice is yours."  "Now, having said all that, are we done here." Pinnacle had been stopped, and with tears welling up,  all he could do was fall to his knees, and commence sobbing like a little child who had just been spanked, and ceasing from his crazed rampage.

                                 Everyone watched on as Dexter Drake the Sentinel of earth had just stood up against the most powerful of all metas on earth. The big question residing in everyone immediate thought process, was how? Jones, Gideon, and Trick-shot had come alongside Dexter each totally confused by the late afternoon's outcome. 'Wow Doc, how did you do that ?" Gideon asked. "Yea, I gotta say Dex, That was amazing! Jones had chimed in. Dexter had kept his gaze on the so-called surviving son of Millennium-city with a sense of pity. Dexter didn't know about the titan's tragic beginnings or the truths about it, but what he did know, was that Pinnacle was still a human being. And once he had taken away his own hype, both mentally and physically, that what was left of his psyche was a lost little boy who needed to be reminded of why he became Captain Pinnacle in the first place. Mia had come up beside Dexter taking his hand. He gave her a gentle kiss on her forehead. Above everything else, he was glad to see his lover doing better, ready to embrace her new look, and their new life together.
