Now it all made sense. The new body, the sliding glass of water,  leaving so abruptly, even his disappearing act, after she started dating Devion. He would just seem to vanish, sometimes for months on end. There was no need to put two and two together; all of her answers were standing directly in front of her. All she could do was stand in pure amazement as the best story in the world was standing right in front of her, and there was nothing she could ever do about it.

Mia was circling Dexter in his Sentinel form poking him and rubbing with a sense of wondrous amazement. "This is unbelievable!" She finally had to say. Once she got back around to his front, she began to touch his Sentinel symbol resting in his chest like a piece of jewelry. "Is this how you change?" "Does it hurt?" She asked. "No," Dexter said. "It actually feels pretty of good." He continued. She began touching his arms. What kind of skin is this ?" she asked. "It looks like muscle tissue, but it feels more like rubber."She continued. Finally Dexter ended the show. He placed his right hand over the quantum symbol, and in a flash, he was His normal self once more. "Hey !" Bring it back, I want to see it again!" Mia said sounding like a child who had just witnessed Santa coming down the chimney. "Mia, sit down please," Dexter said motioning her to sit back down on the couch. She obliged him. "All this time." "Dammit, Dex!" "Why didn't you tell me!!" She demanded. "What exactly was I suppose to tell you, Mia." That I had become, an inter galactic peace officer?" Tell me when that was supposed to happen, during, or after you and Devion were married ." He said to her. "That's not fair Dex." She replied. "Mia, on the day all of this happened, you left a message on my cell telling me that our relationship had come to a close, so, again, when was I suppose to tell you about all this?!" Okay, it was a punk move.  Mia had said. I get it, but this supersedes any stupid move I could have ever made!" She continued. Mia, what do you want from me." Dexter finally asked. Mia arose from the couch, and moved over to his window which gave her a rather nice view of the city, and Lake Michigan."I need you Dex." 'As much as I hate to admit it, I need you." "What about Devion?" Dexter asked. "Well, she started out, when I came home from the station one evening, Devion was having himself a little party." She continued on. "Devion was in bed with a few of his lady friends." "Apparently, I wasn't enough for him." "But I guess I had it coming huh?" Especially after how I treated you." "Dex, I just don't want you to hate me." She said turning to look at him solemnly, almost searching for any sign of sympathy.

What could he do, He still loved her, that was obvious. Even after so much time away from her, he still reserved space for her in his heart. But, with his new life as the Sentinel, having to try to figure that all out for them to have a love affair was the farthest thing from his mind. During his training on Orion 8, She was all he thought about, that is until the training actually began. He and other alien life forms were put through just about every physical and mental challenge that a new Sentinel could have ever endured. They ran great distances, leveled enormous structures, they were taught all types of fighting techniques, and they were taught how to successfully deal with the reanimation sequence.

"I think you need to see something." Dexter finally said as hurriedly left the room. when he returned, he was wearing lounging pants, and with the triangular device, his alien friend had given him. He had kept it away far deep in the back of one of his bedroom closet. When he returned, he placed the odd-shaped box on the floor. "What is it ?" Mia asked. "Just wait, you'll see." Dexter stepped back and said; "Open." The Odd pointed box opened at its tips and began showing Mia all of space. The image of their galaxy filled the room. Dexters living room had been transformed into a planetarium spectacular intergalactic light show. Dexter came up behind her, as she continued to be amazed by the odd boxes holographic splendor that took her through their solar system and beyond.

" Is this our galaxy Dex?" She asked without breaking her gaze from the holographic space show. "Yes, it is ". He replied in an even mellowed voice. As he stood up close behind her, She gently leaned back, placing the back of her head against his chest. Her perfumed scent was almost mesmerizing. Mia had folded her arms across her chest as she allowed him to caress her shoulders. It wasn't long before they were in a back to front embrace. Dexter tried his best to continue to explain all that Mia was seeing, but was finding it growing more increasingly difficult. At this point, Mia was no longer watching the holographical light show, she was back where she wanted to be, only this time, it wasn't the Dexter she once knew. He had become something else entirely. He had become her big black strong Adonis, and she could live there in his arms for all of eternity. "Dex?" "Can I ask you a question." "Yes". He replied. "Are you still able too, uh you know ." Dexter just chuckled at her question. "Far as I know, besides, I'm an intergalactic peace officer, I'm not paralyzed from the waist down." "Why do you ask"? "Because I want to spend the night, that's why." "Hmm let me think about it ." "Dex." She said in a very serious voice. "Won't you need a change of clothes?" "Nope got some in the car." Did she come here expecting to spend the night? Dexter had begun to think. "No Dex, I know what you're thinking, but I keep outfits in the car for emergency's when I'm working on a story." "Whew," Dexter thought to himself and began to relax even further.
