Ash, Clemont, Bonnie, Serena, and Sawyer were on their way to the Snowbelle gym for Ash's eighth gym battle when Ash realized that he had forgotten to bring a winter coat. They stopped by a shop so he could buy one, only to discover that he didn't have any money.
"I'm sorry, I'm afraid that we can't give you a coat," the shop owner said apologetically.
"Oh, that's okay. I guess I'll just have to do what I did in the Icirrus gym," Ash replied.
"Oh, never mind sir. Just take the coat," the shop owner said quickly, handing Ash the jacket.
Ash took the coat and then turned to leave with his friends. As they left the shop, Sawyer turned to Ash.
"Hey Ash, what did you do in the Icirrus gym?" he asked.
Ash replied, "I froze."
