Okay, here's something that doesn't make any sense to me. Why is it that Greninja with Battle Bond can't breed? It's still in the water 1 egg group, meaning it should be compatible with many other Pokemon. Let's also take a look at what we know about abilities, which is that they're passed on through breeding. Now, you could make the argument that Battle Bond was the result of some sort of experiment, except when you look at the anime, the first case of there being a Battle Bond Greninja was several hundred thousand years before Ash's time. Back then, they wouldn't have had the technology necessary in order to do something as drastic as change a Pokémon's innate ability. And because there have been more than one Greninja with this ability, since abilities are passed down via breeding, this means that somewhere in Greninja's ancestry, there must have been another Greninja with Battle Bond. Yet somehow Ash-Greninja can't breed?
