CHAPTER 6: I Care About You... Alot

Tyler's POV ~

I left the house at 3am after yelling at my dad, I probably woke up all my siblings. I wasn't planning on going to school today despite what my dad said yesterday. Josh texted me around 7am so I picked him up. I know I should've just dropped him off at school but I didn't so now were sat in my car and I just finished telling him what happened last night.

I told him I'd take him to school now and apologized for not taking him in the first place but he didn't want to go... He said he wanted to help me instead.

"But why do you want to?" I asked.
He was quiet for a moment so I looked at him raising my eyebrows in a questioning manner. "I-idk I just do I want to make sure your okay... I-i um I k-know we don't really know each other well b-but I care about you... Alot"he rushed out.

Then things fell silent again. I just stared at him trying to find words but none were formed. "Oh god , I-i made you uncomfortable didn't I?" he shoved his face into his hands "no! I'm not uncomfortable....I just..I...I care about you too... Alot" I really do I don't know why... I usually don't involve myself with kids from school but for some reason I did with Josh.

"R-really?" he looked relieved. "Yes........ I have an idea" I randomly thought of something we could do since we were skipping school today. he nodded for me to continue as he leaned back in his seat. "Lets go get some food or coffee then go walk around the park or something"

"S-sounds great" he smiled. Then we were off to a little coffee shop by the park. Once there we went in and ordered. I got a medium coffee and Josh got a bagel with cream cheese and a water.

I tried to pay but he insisted that he does so I let him. We sat down at a small table by the window after receiving our items. I decided I wanted to get to know Josh, his interests, hobbies, just everything.

Over the time we sat in the coffee shop I learned that he moved here with his mom while his 3 siblings lived with his dad, that he really wants to get a cat but his mom wont let him and that he plays drums. Also I told him that I live with both my parents and I have 3 siblings as well, I told him I play the piano and ukulele.

We started walking around the park getting to know each other more and more. He seemed to be slowly getting more comfortable being around me cause I noticed he wasn't fidgeting as much and he wasn't as tense, although he still stuttered it wasn't as often as when we first met. It didn't bother me though.

"I-i want ice cream" he randomly blurted out as we stopped at the fountain. Ice cream did sound good right about now. "okay lets go" I said and started walking off towards the car leaving him standing there. " hey w-wait for me" he ran after me.

I took him to the ice cream parlor not too far from here and bought me and him some ice cream. I was having a really great time until my dad decides to call...again. Him and mom have been calling all day but I didn't want to talk to them right now. I just ignored it but Josh could hear it buzzing.

"Your p-phone's ringing" he said as he munched on his cone. "I know" I said plainly "your n-not going to answer it?" he looked at me then it stopped buzzing "no ... It's too late now anyway... Even if it wasn't I still wouldn't have picked up"

"W-why not?" he furrowed his eyebrows a bit in confusion "It was my dad" I sighed "o-oh... Well now I get why you didn't pick up" he said as he finished his cone.

"Well what do you want to do now?" I asked changing the subject. "I-idk.. We could go to my house.... M-my moms at work so it would just be us there" he shrugged. "Okay" and with that I drive us to his house.

Once we were there we went down to his room and I sat on the end of his bed while he plopped down in his computer chair and spun around which I found adorable. I inspected his room a bit he had a nice size TV with a few different game systems, some posters of bands; I recognized some of them, other then that there was a bed and dressers. Overall though it was really neat and tidy apart from a few stray socks laying on the floor.

"Y-you want to play mario cart?" he suddenly asked "yes! I'm the best at that game" he just chuckled and handed me a controller.

We played mario cart for about 3 hours, we tied. By now school would've been over. I stood up and stretched looking at my watch as I did so, it was 4:30pm. I was kinda getting hungry. So I let Josh know and we ate some pizza he said was left over from last night.

After we ate we went to put our dishes in the sink. I put mine in first and he was behind me waiting to put his in. I turned around to let him do so but stopped my movements because when I turned around our noses were practically touching. Josh instantly jumped back a bit( I bet y'all thought they were gonna kiss ahaha nope) and rubbed the back if his neck awkwardly "s-sorry" I smiled at his awkwardness "it's fine"

We stood in the kitchen for a few moments in silence it only being broken by whom I assume was Josh's mom coming home.

A/N ~ howdy howdy .... Why did I use the word howdy? Idk anyway I was only going to make chapter 5 and publish that but since I missed a day I decided to make another one to make up for it XD. Also this chapter is just over 1000 words I just keep surprising myself with how much I can actual write. mmkayyy Love you! Bye❤
