CHAPTER 42: Melanie

Tyler's POV ~

It's been like a week since Josh's siblings moved in with us. There's school today. I don't want to go. I had a bad night. I kept waking up and having nightmares. Josh held me after I had them.

Everyone's currently eating breakfast. Everyone but me. I'm not hungry. I watch TV while I'm waiting for Josh and his siblings to finish eating.

Eventually they do and everyone squeezes into my car and I drive us all to school.

(I can't remember what class they had so I'm just gonna choose a random one kay cool👌)
I had history first and Josh had math.
I zoned out for the first 3 classes and now it's lunch. I drag myself to the lunch room. When I walk into the room I look up from the ground where my gaze was previously and I see Josh backed up against a wall by a girl who I recognise as Debby.

Debby was flirtatiously running her finger up and down Josh's arm. I could tell Josh was blushing from where I stood. I just stared at them not knowing what to do. Then Debby kissed him, he didn't try to pull away or push her off. He just stood there. I felt as though my heart just went through a paper shredder.

Tears rolled down my cheeks just as Josh pulled back and Debby walked away. His eyes wide. I suddenly felt angry and I creased my eyebrows. Josh looked anxious and he sat down in the seat nearest to him.

I walked over to him after like 5 minutes of processing what happened and he looked up, his expression changed into a happier one. "Hey Ty." he smiled, it soon faded when he seen how angry I was. "What? Whats wrong?" he said standing up. "You!" I screamed before turning and storming off down the hall.

"TYLER! TYLER WAIT!" Josh yelled chasing after me. I stopped and turned to face him laying a hard smack to the side of his face. He winced. "Tyler wh-"

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT!" I yelled louder then I intended earning the attention of nearby students and teachers. "Calm down baby." he said putting his hand on my shoulder.

"DON'T CALL ME THAT!" I was trying to hold back my tears. I swatted his hand away. "Ty-" I cut him off. "I. DO. NOT. WANT. TO. HEAR. IT. OKAY?" he looked like he was going to cry but I ignored it. "Well what do you want?" he whispered. "I want you to leave me alone. Don't call me or text me, nothing. Find someone to drive you and your siblings home cause I'm leaving. Goodbye Josh." I said walking away.

"I don't want you to go." he said and I turned back to look at him again. "But I'm going to let you. As much as I don't want you too.... I don't know what happened but if your happier without me then I'll let you go." he said with tears now slowly falling.

I didn't say anything I just walked away and out the door to the parking lot leaving him standing in the middle of the hall crying.

Once I was in my car I cried and made my way to Josh's to get my stuff.
God I'm so stupid! If I never decided to involve myself with Josh this wouldn't have happened. Why did I have to involve myself with him? I never talk to anyone at school!

When I got to Josh's I seen his mom was home. Great. I walk in anyway, slamming the door unintentionally  and running downstairs. I started shoving my stuff in a random bag wiping away tears only for new ones to form.

"Tyler?" momma dun asked from the doorframe. "What!?" I turned to look at her she looked taken back by my screaming. "Sorry.. I didn't mean to yell." I said quietly. "It's okay.. But what happened sweetheart? Why are you crying?"

I really don't want to talk to Josh's mom about how her son kissed someone then acted like nothing happened. "It's not important." I said returning to packing my stuff.

"Where are you going?" she asked when she realised what I was doing.
"I don't know but I can't stay here I'm sorry I just can't. I appreciate everything you've done for me I really do so thank you." I said zipping up the bag. "What are you going on about? Tyler tell me what happened." she demanded.

"Josh cheated on me okay!?" I yelled. "What?" she asked. "He kissed some girl in the cafeteria." I said wiping my eyes again. "... But I thought he was gay... That's what he told me." she said confused. "Yeah I know."

"Look momma dun I really need to go. I don't know where I'm going but I can't stay here. So again thank you for everything but I need to leave." I choked out. "I understand. Stay safe okay sweetheart? And you call me if you need anything alright?"

I nodded and gave her a hug. "And don't worry I'm not letting Josh go easy for this." she said as I walked out the door.

I got in my car and took a deep breath trying to figure out where to go from here. I wonder if I still have Melanie's number. Melanie is my old friend, she switched schools a few years back and we drifted apart but she's the only person I can trust at the moment.

I take out my phone and scroll through my contacts, letting out a relieved sigh when I found Melanie's number still in my phone. I pressed the call button. It rang 2 times before she picked up.

"Hello?"
"Hi."
"Who's this?"
"Um it's uh Tyler." I sniffed.
"Tyler?! Omg it's been so long how are you?"
"Fricking horrible." I sobbed.
"What happened?"
"It's a long story but I really need your help."
"What do you need Ty?"
"A place to stay if it's not too much to ask."
"Of course not come on over drive safe."
"I will. Be there soon. Thank you so much Mel."
"It's not a problem Ty... Besides I miss my best friend."
"I miss mine too." I smiled slightly.
"Alright I'll be there in like 25 minutes."
"Okay see you then."
"Bye."
"Bye."

I hung up and drove to Mel's house.
When I got there she rushed out of the house before I could even get in the driveway. I opened the car door and ran out meeting her in a hug.
"God I missed you so much!" she screamed. "I missed you too."

"Alright lets get your stuff in and you can tell me if I need to kill someone or not. No one hurts my friend and gets away with it." she said sternly. I'm glad to see Mel hasn't changed, she's still her ol' protective self.

I grabbed my bag and followed her inside. She sat down on the couch and patted beside her letting me know she wants me to sit there. I walk over a sit next to her.

"Okay spill what happened?" she said wrapping her arms around me. I then told her everything from the first day I met Josh til when I just left him crying in the hall.

"Omg my poor smol bean." she said hugging me tighter. "Where does this Josh live so I can murder his ass?" she said. Which mean me laugh a bit. "You don't have to murder him Mel. Besides I don't have money to bail you out of jail." I said jokingly. "Okay but you say the word and I'll go all kung fu on him."

"Since when do you know kung fu?" I asked. "Good point... Alright why don't we get you set up in the guest room?" she asked and I nodded.

A/N ~ .... don't kill me for this chapter please. I needed to add something to the plot cause it was getting boring af and this is what my mind came up with. Mkay well I got school in the morning so night! Love you! Bye❤
