CHAPTER 66: Soup

Tyler's POV ~

My cold has gotten worse. Headaches, runny nose, sore throat, coughing, etc. I was downstairs cuddled up in blankets. I yawned which resulted in me having a coughing fit. Momma dun came into the room to see if I was alright, she stayed home from work to take care of me.

"You okay sweetheart?" she asked walking over to the bed. "Yes. *cough* water *cough* please *cough*." I said pointing to the glass on the nightstand. Momma dun carefully passed me the cup.

When I was done with it handed it back to her and she set it back down. "Did you take the cough medicine today?" she asked. "No. Josh usually gives it to me but he forgot to this morning." I said then cleared my throat after.

"I'll get it for you." she said before heading upstairs to grab it. I blew my nose while I waited. When she came back I took it, then my phone rang. I quickly picked it up.

"Hello?"
"Hey baby."
"Josh!" I screamed excitedly again resulting in me coughing my lungs out.
"Aw Ty. Are you okay?"
"Yeah."
"Your history teacher came to talk to me today."
"Why?"
"He said you have to do a project that's due by next week."
"How am I *cough cough* supposed to do it?"
"I'll help."
"Thank you."
I sniffed.
"I'll be home in a few hours."
"Okay *cough*."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"Okay bye."
"Bye."

I hung up and blew my nose for what seemed to be the millionth time today. "Are you hungry Tyler?" momma dun asked. "Uh.. I guess." I replied. "Want some soup?"

I nodded and she left to go make it. The door was pushed open and Bella waltzed in, jumping up on the bed and laying on my chest. I smiled and gently pet her. She purred.

I decided to text Josh even though I just got off the phone with him.

Me: Hi

Josh: hi

Me: what class are you in right now?

Josh: band

Me: oh... Is he mad that I'm not there?

Josh: he was at first but then I told him you were sick

Me: oh okay

Josh: what are you doing

Me: dying

Josh: can't allow that sorry

Me:  come save me then

Josh: I shall

Me: my knight in shining armor 😍

Josh: dats me

Me: I love you ya dork

Josh: love you too

I had stopped petting Bella and I guess she didn't like that cause she head butted my nose. "Ow." I said with a small laugh. Bella just rubbed her head against my cheek. I pet her again.

Me: Bella just head butted me

Josh: omg

Me: it hurt

Josh: its funny

Momma dun walked in with a bowl of soup on a tray. "Be careful its still hot." she said. "Thank you." I smiled as she placed a kiss to my forehead.

Me: I have soup now

Josh: what kind of soup

Me: idk your mom made it for me

Josh: interesting

Me: yep
Imma eat it now

Josh: okay I'll see you soon

Me: mkay

I ate my soup then took a nap while waiting for Josh to get home.

"Tyler." Joshs voice rang in my ears as I slowly woke up. "Hmm what?" I asked. "How are you feeling?" he asked. "Congested." I said before blowing my nose, again. "Gross." Josh said.

"Why don't we start on that project?" Josh suggested. "Ughhh I don't want to." I groaned. "Fine tell me what you have to do then." he said taking out a piece of paper that I'm assuming is the rubric for the project. "Uh idk I wasn't there remember?" I said. "Right." he said.

"I'll figure it out. Get some more sleep if you can." he said kissing my cheek and heading out of the room.

I woke up coughing. I sat up to try to breathe better but it didn't help. Josh was asleep next to me, well he was my coughing woke him up. He rubbed my back until I stopped coughing.

"You alright?" he asked. I nodded. "My chest just hurts from coughing so much." I sniffed. He nodded in understanding.

I leaned my head on his shoulder. "I wish this *cough* cold would go away already." I said. "Me too." he replied.

Soon we both fell back to sleep.
