CHAPTER 8: 2AM Calls

Tyler's POV ~

I was having a nightmare when I was woken up by someone. I didn't remember where I was and I started panicking until I heard Josh's soft voice and realized I had spent the night at his house. I jumped on him wrapping my arms around him trying to calm down.

His mom came in the room and turned the lights on "Josh?.... Whats going on here?" she sounded confused. Why does she sound confused? Ohh right I am currently clinging to her sons body.

I slowly let go of Josh and wiped the dry tears off my cheeks trying to act 'cool' like I didn't just have a nightmare and freak out like a 3 year old.

Josh's mom was still waiting for an answer. Josh looked at me like he was asking permission if he could tell his mom what happened, I just shrugged.

"Uhh T-tyler had a bad dream" he said. His mom just looked even more confused for a second then relaxed a bit and walked over to the bed sitting on the edge with Josh as I sat in front of Josh.

"Are you okay sweetie? It must have been one heck of a bad dream." his mom now held a look of concern. "Uhh I'm fine momma dun" thats what she told me to call her when we first met. "Okay.... What was the dream about?" she asked looking at Josh then back to me.

All at once it seemed the dream flooded back into my memory and tears stung my eyes. Josh's mom looked at Josh again when I didn't answer, but when she seen I started crying she instantly wrapped her arms around me

"Sshhh its okay sweetie. You don't have to tell me I just thought it could've helped."she started rubbing my back. "No its okay momma dun.... Umm it was about my dad... I got in a fight with him yesterday night and I yelled at him... The dream was about that" I said sniffling.

"Ohh I see...okay" I was now sitting with my legs crossed in front of Josh's mom. "I feel so guilty for yelling at him.. He's probably really worried about me I haven't talked to him or my mom since I left" I said as I wiped my tears for the second time that night.

"Why don't we give them a call then?" I nodded hesitantly. I was scared my dad would yell at me for ignoring his and my moms calls and texts or for calling him at 2 in the morning. I got my phone out and called my dad.

I pulled on a loose string on my shirt while it rang. It rang 3 times before my dad picked up "Tyler?!?" my dad asked in a tired yet worried voice "hi dad" I said shakily. He let out a sigh of relief before his voice became stern "why weren't you answering your mother and I? Where are you? Are you okay?" he started naming off questions. "Idk , I'm at a friends and I'm fine."

Josh and his mom were looking at me probably wondering what was being said on the other side. 'who are you talking to?' I heard my moms voice in the background 'tyler' my dad answered her "OMG TYLER HONEY WHERE ARE YOU?! ARE YOU OKAY?!" my mom started yelling into the phone.

"I'm at a friends house mom and yea I'm okay." she then let out her sigh of relief "when are you coming home?"
I felt my muscles suddenly stiffen. I don't know if I'm ready to go home what if their only being nice over the phone cause they know someone else is in the room with me. What if when I go home they blow up at me again?

My mind was going a million miles a minute. "Tyler? You still there?" my mom asked "yeah" I looked at Josh who looked very tired and then it clicked that I didn't only just wake up my parents but also Josh and his mom who probably want to go to bed.

"Umm I'll be home soon" I said as I slowly crawled off the bed "how soon" my dad asked " 10-15 minutes"

Josh's mom then stood up and walked over to where I now stood" maybe you should wait until morning I don't think you should be driving this early in the morning" she whispered

"Who's that?" my dad asked sounding a little confused. I guess he could hear momma dun talking. "Uhh its my friends mom" Josh's mom then said reached her hand out as if she was asking to talk to my dad so I gave her the phone.

"Hello this is Josh's mom" she spoke. I couldn't hear what my dad was saying so I was just guessing from momma duns answers "Josh is your sons friend... I know how worried you must be about Tyler and how much you want to see him but I think it'd be best to wait til morning so he's not driving in the dark."

"Okay well it was nice talking to you... Your son will be fine here so don't worry, as soon as he wakes up and has something to eat I'll send him home.......... Okay bye" then she handed my phone back to me and told us to go back to bed, which we did.

A/N ~ hey look i didn't leave it at a weird place this time yay me😂. Anyway I'm heading over my frens before the next storm hits (lol hi fren). I said hi fren cause she probably gonna read this. Sorry for the spam of chapters ....Okie dokie love you! Bye❤
