We don't usually have windows since we, mental patients tend to try and escape.
However they know I'm never going to do this and I'm fond of treating Kala the receptionist in the best manners.
She in return tends to privilege me with some of the perks in this hospital.
Some of these perks are sleeping in a room once a week which that included a window,
Why?
Cause when you're deprived from something, even if it's as silly as the window, you just want it even more.
Sleeping in a room that room that included a window was actually my second request for the day.
Unfortunately it was more of a sin rather than a perk; it made the nightmare hit me harder.
It made waking up from a nightmare with your heart racing, and your mind shocked much more intensified.
Besides, the window made me more uncomfortable, it was one of those windows you see in horror movies, the ones where the murderer stands behind with a knife and only his shadow showing.
This room had many shadows casted upon the sheets. Those shadows resembled the ones I used to catch a glimpse of in my nightmares.
I took that as a bad sign.
It was stormy that day, when I woke up I found my heart aching from the nightmare that had interrupted my sleep; I couldn't bear the thought of staying in the room. It was too dark and too loud.
The trees outside were shaking with great force. I had to get out of here.
So I did, I started walking down the hallway where my room was located when I heard sudden noises, to be honest I expected it; I mean it's a mental hospital what else to expect?
I looked behind me to see someone looming around the room I had just left.
Coming closer I realized its Delilah with her perfect hair and perfect texture; she seemed to have the perfect look on her eyes too.
A look that resembled the storm.
I was too scared to come closer, since last time I did, she grabbed my hand and almost tore it out of place.
Delilah stared at me, right into my eyes. To be more specific, she was staring right into my soul.
"Niala" she said, her voice sharp and strong.
I wanted to run and hide, but I had no excuse for doing so.
"Niala" she said louder and even fiercer than before.
"Y-Yes?"
"I want to show you something" she whispered
"O-Okay" damn I was trembling
"Follow me" she smiled as she beckoned me to one of the rooms in the hospital, I didn’t want to go inside.
This part of the hospital consisted mainly of hallways and corridors. This corridor was long enough that if someone is standing at the end of it, they wouldn't hear me being strangled to death… it's probably my imagination giving me all these sort of ugly pictures.
But I can't hide the fact that her eyes were ignited by some kind of a thrill, which scared me.
"D-Delilah, I have to T-To go A-ye I ...Umm" Shit! I can't breathe.
"You have to what?" she sounded angry.
My chest was rising up and down slowly at first, but faster as her glare pierced my mind.
