I smiled at him genuinely, he could probably hear my breath, when he opened his eyes he looked at me I could see admiration in his eyes, I hope that's not one of my brain tricks.

He focused his eyes on me, scanning every inch of my face.

His sweet, dark eyes filling me with warmth and fear of what may happen to me if I, once again, got abandoned by someone I care about.

It felt like eternity looking at his eyes. His perfect eyes, his soulful protective dreamy eyes, they were a little bit empty though, but who am I to judge.

It felt like eternity right now right at this moment, but I guess eternity is never enough.

He broke my dreamy state by breaking our gaze and clearing his throat.

I saw his chest rise up slowly and then he exhaled silently.

"I'll tell you what I saw. IF you tell me why are you so 'not as cheerful' these days?" He teased.

I had no time to fool around and pretend like I'm okay so I spit it all out, "Well Christmas is near and I'm not really excited" I spitted half the truth out.

"Why? It's Christmas, the best time of the year"

 "Not for me"

 "Why?"

"Well I'm pretty sure I'm not having any visitors" I broke my words with a silly smile, "And I'm sort of wishing I don't, and the most important thing is..."

I can't believe I'm about to say that "I'm not getting any presents" I laughed.

He was definitely enjoying this; he said the next words with slight amusement in his eyes "So you don't believe in Santa?"

"Ummm... No? Of course not, what are you? five?" I spoke my next words with a little less excitement, "you know what else is making me sad Nickolas?"

He shook his head

"They lock us in during Christmas, and don't offer anyone any perks because we're too much" I moved my hands theatrically in the air

"Besides some of the crazy people would demand their rightful rights of going outside, so they offer us those Christmas perks after Christmas. This is stupid because the snow is... It's not snow when it's not Christmas" I told him as he burst out laughing

"That doesn't make any sense. But I think I get you, you mean you want snow when it's Christmas. Right?" I nodded excitedly. "Okay..."

"Now it's your turn Mr. Nick" I demanded.

His voice was transparent it moved through walls like echoes moved in halls. We had moved inside since it was too cold for us to stay in the maze.

"Go on..." I insisted on him to tell me what exactly he sees.

"Okay, I'll tell you" he took a deep breath and started explaining

"I don't really know why it is happening, I mean why I am seeing this shit again"

Gravelly voice, ancient eyes that seemed to be too old for someone his age, he continued talking,

"What happened is; when I was watching Lion King with you... It reminded me of something I used to do, back when I was in love with the movie and that thing I did is somehow related to the thing I'm seeing" He wasn't making any sense.

"What do you see Nick? Just skip to the point" I demanded angrily.

He stared at me long enough for me to understand it's not easy what he was about to say.
