It was less than 24 hours until I married the love of my life.  I went ahead to Hartford to meet with Emily to help cover any last minute stuff.  Emily suggest it because people are inevitably incompetent.  Thanks to her, everything was smooth sailing, and I was just an extra body, but it made her happy to have me there.  I watched Emily fly around the room.  She was in her element.  Once her orders were being fulfilled, she came over with a smile.

"You know, I've been thinking.  Don't you think this would be a wonderful place to raise a family?"

"This would be a wonderful place to raise a family, Emily.  The house is roomy and beautiful.  There's a pool and fenced-in yard in the back.  It would be perfect for a young family," I replied, thoughtfully.  I had considered contacting her about buying the house, but I didn't want to make a decision like this without consulting Rory.

"Say the word, Logan, and it's yours," she replied.

"That's very generous of you, but let me run it by Rory.  We haven't had much luck this far, and I don't see us settling down in NYC."

"I could see you two raising a beautiful family here, just as it should have been years ago," she said, with some sadness.

"Let me see what I can do," I replied with a smile.

Rory arrived later with Lorelai and Lane in tow.  Paris and the guys dropped by later in the afternoon.  Somehow, Rory convinced me that everyone should stay at the house tonight.  It felt a bit like a sleepover, but she was keen on the idea, so we decided to go with it.  I did think it would be fun to have our closest friends together, sharing a fun evening.  I was delighted we didn't have the stuffy rehearsal dinner.  I never understood those damn things!

Lorelai set up a screen and projector to watch movies.

"One does not simply watch a Brat Pack movie.  One must experience it, and that includes the snaps, crackles, and pops from a reel-to-reel version, just as it was intended," she insisted.

"Mom's very protective of the proper movie viewing experience," Rory explained.

Lorelai had set up a table with assorted candies, popcorn, and she brought a large vat of some sort of juice.

"This isn't just any juice.  It's Miss Patty's, non-FDA approved, Founder's Day punch," Lorelai informed everyone.

"Be careful how much you imbibe.  It's been known to hit hard and fast.  Even those with a high tolerance are not immune to its effects.  Don't say you haven't been warned!" Rory stated.  "Don't believe me?  Just ask Mom about her Coyote Ugly bar dance!"

Lorelai shot Rory a telling look.  This was definitely a story to hear at a later.

"Lorelai, please elaborate," Finn begged.

"Oh, that I could," she replied with a smile.

Despite the warnings Rory gave, the guys decided to turn the movies into drinking games.  I grabbed a glass and took a drink.  I just about choked on the punch.  I put it back down, and decided it would probably be better if I weren't hung-over for the wedding.  This punch was the strongest thing I've ever had, and I don't know how anyone was still conscious at this point.

I watched Rory as she excused herself to her bedroom upstairs.  We had decided to sleep in separate beds tonight.  It was a little old-fashioned, but we wanted to make it a little more special.  I wasn't sure I could oblige because I hated the idea of spending the night apart.  I waited a few minutes, and followed her upstairs.  I found myself outside of her door.  I knocked, but didn't wait for an answer before I opened the door.  It was like stepping into a time machine.  Boy band posters?  What the hell was that about?  I'd have to remember to give her a bad time about them later.

"I couldn't go without seeing you tonight," I said softly.

I crossed over to the bed, and sat next to her.  I wrapped my arm around her without saying a word.  I felt her relax and put her arm across my chest.  My bed was going to be a little colder tonight without her next to me.  I enjoyed the silence and comfort of the moment.  I looked down and she was asleep.  I took the book from her lap, and put it on the bedside table.  I kissed her, slipped off the bed, and covered her with a blanket.

I went back downstairs just in time to catch Paris and Robert in a heated lip-lock.  Guess the punch worked a number on these two, I thought as I laughed to myself.  I snuck by them quietly, trying not to interrupt their moment.  Finn was reenacting the dance scene from The Breakfast Club.  He was trying to get everyone to join him to no avail.  Lorelai was laughing hysterically.  Who knew this eclectic group could come together and have so much fun?  This is why I love my friends.

The next morning, I went downstairs to find a breakfast smorgasbord awaiting me.  The scents tickled my nose and seemed to be touching our other guests as well.  Everyone else started trickling downstairs, filling their plates, and sitting down to eat.  I was glad that I had not overindulged last night, which is more than I could say for everyone else.  I had seen the guys much more hung-over, so that was a good sign.  There was still no sign of Finn, but I didn't expect him for at least two more hours.

Rory came down about thirty minutes after the others.  I watched her get some food and sit next to me.

"Thank you," she whispered.

"For what?" I replied with a smile.  "I know this is all exciting and scary at the same time.  We are about to embark on a journey that's new for both of us.  It's going to be fun, thrilling and a lot of work, but it's worth it.  YOU are worth it!  I've been wanting this since I met you.  You are the first person, the only person I have ever truly loved.  I couldn't see myself with anyone but you!  I love you, Rory Gilmore!"

"I love you, too, Logan Huntzberger!" she replied as she kissed me.

I couldn't get enough of this woman!  I was ready!  Let the adventure begin!
