My heart felt shattered, I felt drained and I was desperately fighting back my tears that were threatening to fall from my emerald orbs.
I'd lost my redneck. And it hurt like hell.
By the time I found everyone else they were all sat around a small fire place chomping on some sort of meat.
The moment Avery saw me she sent me a warm smile and held out a piece of food for me to eat.
Nodding at the woman as a Thankyou I stuffed the food into my mouth not caring how messy I looked as I sat myself down a little further away from everyone else.
Chewing the chewy food contently as the minutes passed I furrowed my brows and looked at Carol who was poking the small fire cackling in the low light.
"What is this?" I asked.
"Dog."
I made a 0 shape with my mouth and once I was done with the food i stood up and walked away so I was a little away from the group. I laid myself flat on my back and stared up at the night sky.
One by one everyone began to fall asleep and all that could be heard was the sound of the fire, the chirps of the crickets and hoots of the owls.
I was breathing deeply as I just stared blankly at the sky thinking about everyone we had loved and had lost.
Griffin always thought once we died we turned into stars in the sky. I would always laugh at his crazy ass but now I think about it, it's not crazy at all.
If it's true I wonder which star Griffin is right now because there's a shit load of them twinkling in the sky.
My guess is the brightest one.
Cheesy but he always was the light in the darkness.
Hearing footsteps behind me I lifted my head slightly to see it was only the man I once called my redneck.
His face was sweaty, his breathing deep and his eyes sad, as though his Georgian orbs had lost their spark.
Breaking the eye contact he plonked himself near Carol who was fast asleep.
There was once a time I would sit around the fire content in his lap and with his arms around me. But that was gone. It was a memory. And that's all it would ever be. We were over.
Sighing I finally closed my eyes, allowing myself to sleep even if it was only for a few hours.

Being the first to wake up I sighed as I pushed myself up of the ground and stretched my arms under the suns harsh rays.
Yawning quietly I noticed that actually Carol, Daryl and Rick were missing.
Scrunching my face I just shrugged and figured it was nothing out of the normal as I began to trudge into the forest in hope to find even a drop of water.
The sun was scorching against my pores but their was a slight breeze which cooled me in the shade of the trees.
Step by step I gained speed charging through the forest. My anger overwhelming me like it did each morning when I remembered my brother wasn't here.
As I was storming through the forest I came to a stop when I heard a familiar laugh. As small and weak as it was it was there and I could hear it.
I slowly crouched down behind a big oak tree to see Carol and Daryl lightly laughing at something. Daryl leaning against the bark of a small tree whilst Carol had her hands on his shoulders smiling up at him.
