We were sat in the main room waiting for news on how Gregory was holding up. I didn't particularly like Gregory but I didn't want him to die.
Closing the door behind him Jesus sighed.
"Doc was able to patch Gregory up. He's in pain, but he'll live."
"So what happens now?" I heard someone ask.
I made sure to listen carefully to Jesus as I was sat on Daryl's lap, for I'm sure I was about to find out about Negan and his men and I wanted to know more about them.
"Things like that don't usually happen here, but, uh, it's settled."
"Who's Negan?" I asked.
He sounded like an asshole.
"A while back, Daryl and Abraham had a run-in with his men. Who is he?" Rick added in for me.
"Negan's the head of a group of people he calls the Saviors." Jesus explained.
The saviours. The saviours. Those words sent shivers up my spine.
"As soon as the walls were built, the Saviors showed up. They met with Gregory on behalf of their boss. They made a lot of demands, even more threats. And he killed one of us-Rory."
Jesus sighed once more before continuing.
"He was 16 years old. They beat him to death right in front of us. Said we needed to understand, right off the bat. Gregory's not exactly good at confrontation. He's not the leader I would've chosen, but he helped make this place what it is, and the people like him. He made the deal."
Daryl's muscular arms tightened around my torso throughout the explanation although I was wriggly as hell. These saviours made me feel uneasy for I knew they weren't looking to make friends. But...what's new?
"What deal?"
I had to ask.
"Half of everything. Our supplies, our crops, our livestock, it goes to the Saviors."
"And what do you get in return?"
"They don't attack this place. They don't kill us."
"Why don't you kill them?" Rick asked furrowing his brows.
"Most of the people here don't even know how to fight, even if we had ammo."
"Well how many people does Negan have?"
"We don't know. We've seen groups as big as 20."
Daryl had clearly had enough of all of this because he raised his voice as he spoke.
"Now, hold up. So, they show up, they kill a kid, and yer give them half of everythin'? These dicks jus' got a good story. The bogeyman, he ain't shit."
"Well, how do you know?"
"A month ago, we took his guys out PDQ. Left them in pieces and puddles."
I slumped back against Daryl's chest as our group agreed to kill the saviours in return for food, medicine and a cow. Fair deal.

As we all climbed into the vehicle ready to leave the hilltop after finally striking a deal with Gregory (that miserable old goat) I was sat in between Daryl and Glenn.
As the vehicle started up I noticed how happy Maggie and Glenn looked as they admired the photograph of their unborn baby.
You see they had an ultra sound today and got to hear their babies heart beat for the first time.
It must be a beautiful thing to experience. And I knew Maggie and Glenn would make wonderful parents.
As the photograph was passed round everyone smiled at the unborn baby.
It was already so loved.
When the photograph found its way in my hands I admired it and smiled at the thought of a mini Maggie or Glenn running around.
As I passed the photograph back to Glenn I ruffled his hair.
"Congrats Rhee."
Oh boy had he changed from the pizza boy who liked cool cars.
"Thanks." He smiled.
"You really do deserve to be happy Glenn. Both of you do."
"So do you Ophelia."
"Maybe."
"Should we expect Dixon number 3 soon?" He chuckled.
"Not yet."
"I already feel sorry for it if it looks like you." He laughed nudging my arm.
Letting a small chuckle escape my lips did I playfully hit Glenn's upper arm.
"Okay okay it'll be fine if it looks like you but I'm not so sure about Daryl."
"Watch it Rhee." Daryl grinned.
"Make sure you sleep with one eye open now Glenn." I smirked shaking my head.
"Just kidding. Just kidding." He laughed holding up his arms.
"You'll both make great parents." He added patting my back.
I just shrugged as I leant my head on Daryl's shoulder.
I was so happy for Glenn and Maggie. I'd known Glenn since this whole thing started and I never had a problem with him.
Maggie would always show kindness to me and they both deserved this.
I could only prey it worked out.
Looking around the vehicle I could how happy everyone looked and a smile tugged on my lips.
It was moments like this that the world felt normal.
I just hoped Negan and the saviours didn't cause any problems.
Oh who am I kidding? Of course they will. It's just our luck.
As we finally got back to Alexandria we all got out of the vehicle one by one and walked through the gate that Avery had opened for us upon our arrival.
I stretched my arms above my head and yawned as I embraced the suns beams. I'd been feeling icky and sick the last few days so the feeling of the sun was quite soothing.
As soon as we entered our home Rick began to walk of towards the church after speaking.
"I need everybody in the church in an hour."
