The sun was beginning to rise and the sky was a pretty pastel colour of pink.
As Carl and Enid eventually woke up I took a sip of my water.
The fire had died down and now all that was left was small billows of grey smoke hovering in the air and the remaining smell of the fire.
As Carl and Enid got their bags and shit I slung my ruck sack over my shoulders and let out a big yawn.
Whilst Enid was zipping up her back Carl approached me and put a hand on my shoulder.
"How much sleep did you get last night?"
"A couple of hours." I lied.
"Ophelia don't lie to me."
"Does it matter?" I sighed beginning to walk.
As the two children followed behind me I hadn't escaped Carl's concerns.
"You need to sleep."
"I'll sleep when I get home."
"You should have woken me up last night. I could have kept watched for a bit."
"No don't worry bud. You needed that sleep."
"Well you better go straight to bed when we get back."
"Yes sir." I saluted sarcastically.
Shaking his head he playfully punched my upper arm and I let out a small chuckle.
As the hours passed we were all trudging through the forest.
Both me and Carl was covered in blood and dirt, our clothes stained and our skin dirty.
My shoulders were now exposed as Enid had my flannel and although it was warming up I was feeling a little under the weather due to how cold I was last night.
But as long as Enid's ankle healed. I didn't care about a little cold.
Enid looked in pretty rough shape to as she followed behind Carl and I. Her face was covered in blood and her hair was filled with clumps.

As we approached the edge of the forest and made our way onto the road that directly lead to Alexandria we all came to a stop when we could hear snarling.
Sighing I pulled the golf club out of the strap on my bag and raised it in the air as I saw three walkers roaming the road.
