DARYL NEVER DID COME BACK early like he had said he would. He never did get that hair cut. And now his long hair simply served as a reminder to Ophelia, of his broken word. And as the days went by, she found that his words meant less and less.
He had been so consumed by the idea of revenge - so focused on attacking the sanctuary and killing Negan, that he had not thought of much else.
Ophelia understood his motive, truly she did. She too wanted nothing more than to wipe the smirk of the saviours lips, to watch him suffer as he had made Glenn and Abraham. But, she did not understand why she had been left behind in the process.
The woman had found that, as the days went by the two of them were growing apart, Daryl had unintentionally driven a wedge between the two of them. And Ophelia did not know how she could make him see that. He was always to busy to listen to her. They had not had a proper conversation in a while - too long.
They didn't even argue anymore because they did not speak. They did not communicate. They did not see each other much. Their relationship was not as strong as it had once been as much as it pained the woman to admit.
Of course she knew he cared for her a great deal, he wanted her to stay at home, to not risk the life of their unborn child. Perhaps when she refused to do that, was when things started to go downhill. She knew he was very protective of their son - but he had not yet found the right way to show it.
Currently Ophelia was sat inside one of the saviours cars - one she had just killed. She had been given a list you see, of saviours to kill. They could not risk any saviour look outs discovering their plans nor ruining them, so they needed to be dealt with. And so far, she had been doing just fine. She had not needed any help. Though it was very rare she ever did.
It had taken her a lot of time to persuade Rick to let her complete this mission. Eventually he had let her do it, though he was reluctant. But, if Maggie could lead the hilltop when she was pregnant - Ophelia could do this.
And Daryl, well he had no opinion on the matter. She had not told him of her where abouts. As far as the redneck was concerned she was at home safe and warm within their bed. She knew it was wrong, she knew it was not what husband and wife did. But, If Daryl had his way, she'd never be allowed anywhere in fear of harming their child.
Leaning her head against the car seat did Ophelia release a gentle sigh, she had been gone a while and as such knew it was time to leave. But not to Alexandria - to the sanctuary. She knew she was not meant to, but she would be damned if she did not get involved in the action.
